Unai Emery

There are voices of concern and dissent among older board members who are losing faith in Emery but Arsenal’s determination to stick with Emery comes from Sanllehi who regards Unai as his “man” and wants to give him every chance to succeed.[@MirrorFootball]
If there is a sliver of truth in this, then it's fucking beyond laughable. This isn't a case of going on a bad run or being unlucky in a couple of games, we have been deplorable all season, and have now topped it off by failing to beat a side sitting 19th at home, and needed a last ditch equalizer to salvage a point. There is no turning this around, i don't see us winning another league game while Emery stays in charge.

My eldest lad said that he read something on line earlier suggesting that the club will having an emergency board meeting today - I don't see that rumour/story anywhere
tweeted yesterday -

''Arsenal board meeting called for tomorrow.
There was shouting heard in the #AFC dressing room. Certain players want Unai Emery gone tonight! The Arsenal owners been told to sack him! It’s kicking off! @Arsenal'' - @indykaila

Worth noting that the account is notorious for absolute bullshit.

Emery's time is surely up,,out of his depth and seemingly clueless on the touchline. There is no future for him in a competitive league like the Premier League. Third in Spain is an achievement given the dominance of the big two and Atletico. In a league where games are not a given like some European leagues you need to be strong and determined. Emery has neither trait and he is getting exposed for that game on game. He cannot cope with competitive teams. Other managers see that and like yesterday they go for the jugular.
The players have to take some blame. I thought Aubameyang was awful yesterday, for a captain he gave nothing extra. I get the concept that the players are not playing for the manager but I cannot accept it. They are playing for the club, the shirt and the fans , not to mention grossly inflated wages. They owe more. Obviously some players are simply not good enough. Too many names to mention, add that to the obvious lack of coaching and you have a recipe for disaster.
Arsenal are in a mess, almost an irreversible decline. Emery needs to go Monday morning but such is the malaise in the club I'm not sure that is even enough.
Great post BWK.

Was just watching Sunday Sup on Sky......I wasn't aware but they were saying that in his last season at Seville Dick didn't win any away matches in the league....as in NONE. They qualified for the CL off the back of winning the ropey cup as they finished 7th. As they said whoever at Arsenal was looking at his away stats performance for his job interview must have overlooked that minor shortcoming.
Yeah I saw that too Jock.

That’s Gazidis for you, totally unfit for the position he was in. It’s almost as though he tried to find the closest thing to Wenger that he could find. And as someone who claimed Arsenal had Wenger’s DNA maybe we shouldn’t be shocked that he made the choice he did.

The Telegraph say #Arsenal players have lost faith in Unai Emery & do not believe that he is the man to salvage their season. https://t.co/TY66LOvNjq via @telefootball

I hope you are right Rodder's if not then it means he is here till at least the New Year, because if after Saturday's shameful fiasco against the saints they do not sack him, then they are not the all and everything that many made them out to be.

BBC:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50536901

"Arsenal fans want 'urgent action' from 'rudderless' club "

A number of prominent Arsenal supporters' groups say "urgent action" is needed to halt the "alarming and desperate state of things" at the club.

In July, they called for owner Stan Kroenke to "reinvigorate" the Gunners.

Arsenal are eighth in the Premier League, eight points adrift of a top-four Champions League qualifying spot.

"It feels like the club is rudderless and floating aimlessly, unsure of its destination," said a statement from the fan groups.

The collective of fans say they are backed by a petition with 120,000 signatures.

Kroenke first invested in Arsenal in 2007 and became majority shareholder in 2011.

The Gunners have not won the league since 2004 and their most recent successes came with FA Cup wins in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The supporters' groups said that, while issues raised in the July letter "have not gone away, it is the overall alarming and desperate state of things, on and off the pitch, that need urgent action and take precedent amongst our concerns".

They added: "Until the club, especially the senior management structure, is running efficiently, effectively and ambitiously then few other issues can, or will, be satisfactorily resolved.

"The last decade, notwithstanding the FA Cup wins, can legitimately be seen as lost years, both on and off the field, when the team has not only stagnated but actually regressed.

"To date, that is the legacy of the 'Kroenke years'."

Remember this anyone?

Yes and that is an image I wish I could forget, even tried pouring extra-strength bleach in my eyes and even THAT didn't work....Poor Gunnersaurus what was he thinking going into Private Room with Rodders where there was Free Booze and Only ONE Exit which was locked...He's never been the same since...Have you noticed how he now has a nervous twitch and jumps whenever anyone says his name from behind.

Shame on you Rodders!

Metro reporting that Dick now has 3 games to save his job - no source whatsoever as they've just made it up based on the previous bullshit rumour of him having 4 games to save his job, less the Saints game therefore he must have 3 games to go. These twats get paid to come up with this sh.it

Hope I am wrong but I can't see anything happening until the new year at the earliest. Sanllehi and Edu have to make an appointment to see wiggy before they can take any action and as it's coming upto Xmas wiggy's diary is full up with lots of xmas drinkies so we'll just have to wait a bit :x Can't help but think that the wigster enjoys ignoring all the clamour for something to happen at the club as he has no intention of bowing to pressure from anybody. Twat.
