Rumours going around that it will be the bloke at wolves, apparently he's already been contacted, again only rumours, but he seems to be the hot favourite with some of the bookies.

santo would be a fairly underwhelming appointment.
I can't see we would improve that much by getting him in.

Get used to that feeling buddy - under this ownership we will never again witness the appointment of "Star Manager", and all appointments will likely come from the 3rd or 4th tier of managerial quality

Could have had Rafa last summer but aparently there was “no way he would leave soon to be big spending toon”

Jurgen Klinsmann named Hertha Berlin boss until end of season - there's another one gone

Well I've supported The Arsenal a long time (I'm not as old as you but still a long time) and I've never seen a Star Manager appointment, no one heard of Wenger, Graham was an unknown quantity, Ricoh no, I can't think before then but that does go back a fair way.

Did we ever appoint a Star Manager? Graham and Wenger were unproven when they arrived. At least Santo has proven that he can do well in Premier League. Might be worth a go, so long as he doesn't get it because of a brilliant interview. If he does a brilliant interview, fuck him.

I don't think augie is saying we did ever appoint a star manager but rather that now days when the media hype dictates that to be a big club you have to appoint a star manager that is something we won't do under the wig botherer.

BBC Sport | Arsenal have identified Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as a potential replacement for Unai Emery if the Gunners decide to sack the Spaniard. If Emery is sacked and Nuno is allowed to speak to Arsenal, then the Portuguese would be a strong contender to take over.
