Shaun Wright-Phillips??
Call me a complete t****r if you like but has nobody else considered that SWP could be a potential signing before the start of the season.
The history is there in that Arsene was interested but Chelskis rubles priced us out.
Also with his Dads connections and the fact that he is unhappy at not playing regular first team football. Plus it would mean he could stay in London obviously!
Sorry if its already been mentioned but was just interested in what anybody else thought.

You are a complete tosser!!!
Sorry, that was a obvious (and very lame) joke.
Yeah i posted the question before: SWP 4 N5 NE1? But not many people seemed that keen at the time. I personally think he would make a good signing, he certainly has a lot of attributes that i feel we need... quick, direct, works hard, can give us genuine width, can double as a match mascot, not scared of having a shot, has a point to prove, etc but with a new RB in Sagna seemingly on his way and Eboue allegedly being considered for a more advanced position i'd be surprised if Wenger goes for him.
Even if Freddie goes we'd have Eboue, Hleb and Walcott in that RW position and as much as i think in the short-term SWP is a better option than all of those 3 i cant see it happening.
Plus Chavski would probably try and shaft us on the price.

WRIGHT PLAYER - WRONG CLUB!
WRIGHTY,
A MOVE FOR S.W.P. HAS ALREADY BEEN MOOTED A NUMBER OF TIMES ON DIFFERENT THREADS.
I THINK THE GENERAL CONSENSOUS IS THAT, ALTHOUGH HE WOULD BE A GREAT SIGNING FOR ARSENAL, CHELSEA ARE VERY UNLIKELY TO WANT TO SELL HIM TO US.
EVEN IF THEY WERE SO INCLINED, THE PRICE THEY WOULD PUT ON S.W.P. WOULD PROBABLY PROVE PROHIBITIVE ANYWAY.

Lined myself up for that one I suppose but glad to see I'm not the only sad billy no mates on the site at this time of night!!
Fair comments lads, pretty much what I was thinking but I feel that he is a more proven option in that position than TW & Eboue but as we said price would not be low enoufh for AW

(THE REAL ONE!!)U.F.G Anfield '89 wrote:thought you were giving me credit where it wasn't due for a minute, but you were just abbreviating Up 4 Grabs. this could get confusing, might i suggest that I remain U.F.G and It's Up 4 Grabs Now be given the Abbreviation U.4.G, if he thinks that is suitable.

IF YOU WANT CREDIT, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO EARN IT!!!

IHH
I felt ashamed as soon as i had typed it (although obviously not ashamed enough to delete it before clicking "submit")!
U.F.G. you were here 1st so i'll accept whatever abbreviation anyone feels like typing... as long as it's not an abbreviation for See You Next Tuesday (nobody likes being called a SYNT!).
Is it me or is there something about SWP that reminds you of Gary Coleman? "What you talkin' bout Willis?"

WHENEVER I SEE THE GUY, I THINK OF S.W.P. (BUT - AS THE FORUM REGULARS WOULD TESTIFY - NOT IN A BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN KIND OF WAY!
