Mikel Arteta will meet Arsenal chief Josh Kroenke tonight for his third and final interview as he closes in on the manager’s job at the Emirates.

Manchester City, will be due compensation from Arsenal, but are bemused at a lack of contact over Arteta.

Let's be honest, no decent manager is going to risk his reputation taking over this clusterfuck of a club. We have to appoint an unknown really, it's likely to be either Tets or Paddy and to be honest, I'd rather Tets. Paddy has not excelled so far and I actually don't want his legend tarnished by coming back and doing a shit job. I never liked Tets as a player, very average I thought so may as well try him as a coach. He does have a good reputation and I have to say that several times at the weekend, the cameras went to the City bench and it was Tets who kept turning to Pep and made gestures about shape and formation etc so it looks like he does actually have some idea, unlike poor old Freddie.

PS. I keep calling him Tets just so when it's time to sack him I can sing 'Tets Out' and 'Get the Tets out for the boys'........ 8)

Ah, pragmatism, I like that ...... at his first home game can we get a chant of the 'get the Tet's out for the fans' before he comes out :rubchin:

We seem to have missed out on a few decent managers going to other clubs while wasting time with the later Wenger years, and the 2 with Emery.

I'm not even sure how a new manager could even turn around this shit shower though,

Never really took to Arteta as a player and I certainly don't want him as manager. He reminds me of Martinez.

This bunch of lazy shirkers need a kick arse , drill sergeant type of manager, not a quiet, shrinking violet like Arteta. This will start badly and end even worse.

Easy for him to give advice to Pep when you are moving world class players around the field. What's he going to do with Chambers, Xhaka, Ozil.and the rest of our lazy mob?? Sweet FA is the answer.

But we'll have the obligatory "let's give him a chance" period. By the end of Jan, firmly stuck in 10th, the knives will be out........and the revolving door of managers will be well under way.

I weep for what was once AFC

I think this club would kill to finish 10th now mate, they are in freefall........

Arteta must be mad wanting to come to Arsenal, like you say he sits there watching the best players work hard and win trophies while under zero pressure,I honestly dont see how on earth this current shower can be helped, you simply cannot help poor players with a bollocking or a cuddle,I'm sure Emery never said to Luiz and Chambers/Sokratis/Mustafi/Xhaka/Willock etc etc etc go out week in week out and make fundamental schoolboy errors but they did/do,having said that the voices on SSN coming out of City seem to think he'll make a good manager, the question is do Arsenal have the time to let him learn his trade,or ultimately destroy his managerial career in his first job.

All joking aside I am just fed up to the back teeth with it all.

What has come out of the continued awfulness since Freddie took over, is that at least we know that it wasn't all down to Emery. We all knew there are players in the squad who just are not good enough and never will be:

Sokratis, Xhaka, AMN, Willock, Ozil, Bellerin, Chambers, Martinez etc etc

What is both Painful as fuckk and just fecking "Sad" is that no matter who comes in as manager, they are going to have to be a better miracle worker than Jesus H Christ to turn all tis around within 3 - 4 seasons...And THEN only IF They get all the financial backing they need from the KuntaKroenke & KidKunt, which we know is Not going to happen, I truly fear fro the future of Arsenal FC as a Football Team and Club. As someone rightly pointed out on another thread the decline of Football (Prem League) has been ongoing for quite a few seasons now and Money, Big (Greedyfuckers) Business and Media Hype, along with Social Media are destroying the game we all love.

I mean how long before the first £1million per week player wage?

Once upon a time Players 'played' football, now the majority of them are so far up their own egotistical pussyhole arses on Twatter & Face book and Instagram , showing off their bling and new chevron car    - when they should be focusing on their game .

Football IS Dead and they and it can FUCK.OFF! :(

Guardiola has only ever managed three teams - each with the biggest budget by far in each of the three biggest leagues in Europe (sorry Italian football is shite these days). Whilst he has produced amazing teams, it has been done with huge funds and even in those instances he's never exactly been famed for great defences has he? At Barcelona he had the likes of Mascherano playing at centre half....but it hardly mattered as they a collection of the world's finest midfielders and forwards at his disposal, and the opposition never got the ball

In his first season at Man City when they had the shit keepers and defenders he inherited (but still way superior to any of the c.unts we have) they conceded only 5 goals less than us that season, lost six games and finished 15 points behind the leaders. It took a spending spree of well over £200m to get the keepers and defenders he wanted in place to turn things round and even then some of them were expensive flops. We will never know how he would have done had they had a total budget of £40m to spend on the whole squad. We'll never know because he would never have joined them without those promises

We've now rumoured to be getting the man who has been his pup in training who will be lucky to get £20m to spend on a team that will be starting with a minus goal difference, no saleable assets and a collection of the flimsiest defenders you've ever seen in your life......in the hope that he'll turn them into world beaters.....oh and no CL football to promise any of the luvvies who might want to join us either

Good luck with that job !

Good points SteveO and I agree.

Arteta is not on my list. Putting the cones out for Pep is not managerial experience.

I'd nearly rather have Sean Dy- hey hang on there you nearly got me ya fucker..... :D

Mikel Arteta’s lawyer (and agent) is in the capital ahead of late talks with Arsenal officials. All parties are keen on finalising ‘formalities’ by tomorrow [@TheAFCBeII]

I've just looked up the youngest managers in PL history and what a stellar list it reads - Jan Siewart (Huddersfield) 36, Chris Coleman (Fulham) 32, AVB (Chelsea) 33, Paul Jewell (Bradford) 34, Gareth Southgate (Middlesbrough) 35, Roy Keane (Sunderland) 36.

Every single one got the sack as opposed to leaving for better things!

Bodes well for 37 year old Mikel to come in and transform Sokratis, David Luiz and Xhaka eh?

Said that before about Guardiola, see him at Wigan or Bolton with no money and see how far his managerial talent gets him,my wife could have won shit at Barca,Bayern and City with them sides and dough,
