Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
Re: Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
Carlo Ancelotti agrees £14m Everton deal with bumper £2.5m bonus for keeping them in Premier League
Re: Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
I know we go cheap but £14m is ott if we are honest - everton are in the same situation as citeeh were when they got the arab money first, in that they have to overpay for high profile players and managers in a bid to establish some credibility as an ambitious club
Re: Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
14 mill might be for 2/3 years

Sensitive stage ?? Wtf does that mean ?? He is a rookie that has zero experience of managing any team, and no other club of our size would be willing to give the managers job to a guy only qualified in putting out cones, so he should be grateful to get the chance
And as for the theory that he might take over from pep in the future
I'm not saying I want the guy as our new manager, but if he turns it down we will be back to square one and we need a manager now

If we give Arteta the job then it’s a move that deserves to fail. It's not brave and it’s not innovative. It is just really fucking stupid!!
Even in the unlikely event that it works out it is still stupid because this is not the time to try to be clever and take risks.
Just when you think we have hit rock bottom as a club you realise we are gonna keep digging

I do recall reading something a good while back that Arteta wasn't particularly liked in the dressing room, more so when he was made skipper. Apparently he was a bit too hardline for some at the time.

Merson thinks it's a good idea
We'll be in the bottom 6 come mid January. I wonder when they'll offer Arteta his "keep us up" bonus??
