Choosing Arteta over Ancelotti (who was clearly available now) is the sort of decision Sir Humphrey Appleby would euphemistically have called "courageous" in "Yes Minister".
Let's see in, say, two and a half years time how things have worked out for Everton and ourselves...

The sad realisation of the last few managerless weeks is that, reading between the lines, the general feeling is that a majority of Arsenal supporters actually would prefer wenger back, but, the wenger from 1996-2006, not the one from 2007-2017. I just hope we don't end up getting relegated like Man Ure after Busby left in 1974, and Blackburn after Dalglish left.
It's like after a divorce, you play around for a couple years with someone new, but then after a hitting bad patch you wonder if it was worth all the money, effort and emotion to get divorced in the first place.

Or alternatively, you get out of the dead marriage while you are still fit enough to pull any potential new partner worth having......Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 9:47 pmThe sad realisation of the last few managerless weeks is that, reading between the lines, the general feeling is that a majority of Arsenal supporters actually would prefer wenger back, but, the wenger from 1996-2006, not the one from 2007-2017. OR just stay in the marriage, save the money and have a couple of bits on the side in different towns, you'll need a pay as you go mobile phone and a very good memory as well as an escape plan if it all goes tits upBob Bayliss wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 9:26 amOr alternatively, you get out of the dead marriage while you are still fit enough to pull any potential new partner worth having......Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 9:47 pmThe sad realisation of the last few managerless weeks is that, reading between the lines, the general feeling is that a majority of Arsenal supporters actually would prefer wenger back, but, the wenger from 1996-2006, not the one from 2007-2017. Contrary to reports, Patrick Vieira reveals he wasn't contacted over the Arsenal job. #afc

Better still, escorts , you still need the mobile but not having a good memory won’t be a huge problemLeftfootlegendGooner wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 10:29 amOR just stay in the marriage, save the money and have a couple of bits on the side in different towns, you'll need a pay as you go mobile phone and a very good memory as well as an escape plan if it all goes tits upBob Bayliss wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 9:26 amOr alternatively, you get out of the dead marriage while you are still fit enough to pull any potential new partner worth having......Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 9:47 pmThe sad realisation of the last few managerless weeks is that, reading between the lines, the general feeling is that a majority of Arsenal supporters actually would prefer wenger back, but, the wenger from 1996-2006, not the one from 2007-2017. Yet again, Diego Simeone showed tonight that he is the man with the perfect pedigree for the Arsenal job. Liverpool huffed and puffed, but no shots on target tells its own story. Let's see what happens in the return match.
Break the bank for him, get shot of tippy-tappy-Tets, and rebuild from the back as every great Arsenal team I have known has done.

The scouse b.astards will probably blow them away in return leg, but playing a cagey game with minimal possession is simeone's type of football
