Re: CoronaVirus Latest
Good news (Hopefully) DB! .
Hang in there NutFlush - Maybe start writing that book you always meant to get around to doing?
Rodders would have swallowed the swab and the hand attached to the end of it!
Something from the Good Old(ish) days
Boro vs THE Arsenal 98 / 99 season (I'm sure I can see Herd in the crowd in the opening 30 seconds or so!)

Glad to hear you're ok mate, be honest though, you left it for a few days for the attention didn't youDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:25 amCheers buddy and big congrats on the new baby!
I'm feeling a lot better. Cough gone, fever gone, throat still a tad sore but bearable, and the shallow breathing is improving with a course of steroids and antibiotics.
Finally got tested last Thursday and just waiting for the results. The whole process is a bit of a mess tbh. First they were sending a team to my house. Then they texted me from one of those automated ticketing services telling me to go to a health centre giving me about 30 minutes to make a one hour journey. No contact number provided. I spent about 4 hours on the phone getting transfered around various health service departments and my GP with no one knowing who I needed to reschedule with. Finally by luck I got through to a public health team and got rescheduled. I understand the demand for testing is unprecedented and the front line staff are under huge pressure but its a complete mess of a system.
The test is a bit unpleasant. They swab the back of your throat (I gagged - rodders would have been ok ) and they swab up your nose right into the sinus. That was really uncomfortable.
Fingers crossed on a negative so I can get back to work. Although even that might end up being from home the way things are going.
Anyhoo hope you are all OK Gooners and stay healthy.
But seriously hope you and the family are ok.

Good to hear you're pulling through DB10.
On regards to testing over here, I think the HSE might be in way over it's head already.
Keep the spirits up, nut flush gooner. If Tom Hanks can do it on an island with a volleyball then I'm sure you'll do fine

I'll see you your scum bag and raise you some pond life. Face masks from the Cancer hospitals As if the most vulnerable aren't going through enough. How low can people stoop and then brazenly sell them on the streets? Teenagers spitting on door handles of cars in estates, old people mugged by threat of coughing? The world is full of human vileness and whilst we buffer our self protective psyche with pearly wisdom like 'There are more good people than bad people out there', mankinds predatory cruelty infects as fast as any virus. Sad thing is Covid-19 won't kill enough of society's air thief's, just extra genuine people.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 4:37 pmWould you believe low lifes are stealing hand sanitizer from hospitalsIW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:28 pmThankfully most of the shops around here have hand sanitizer filcilities at the entranceSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 12:48 pmI'm not surprised. Went to fill up my car on Thursday at the local BP garage. 12 pumps, every single one with no plastic gloves or paper towels. Thankfully had a few tissues in the car so used one of those to handle the pump. When i went to pay I bought a coffee and was pleased to see the girl behind the counter use hand sanitiser before making it. I asked her "can I have a drop of that to clean my hands please", to get the helpful "its not for customers response". Thanks BP - promoting the spread of the virus everywhere.augie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 12:53 pmMy youngest lad's football manager has sent out text message that was sent out to all the big clubs in Dublin by Beaumount Hospital (one of biggest hospitals in Dublin) telling us that the virus is spreading fast via handles on petrol and diesel pumps, and the hospital has advised people to use gloves or paper towels when filling up your cars

I know what you mean mate, first 95% of our staff were sent home last week after 3 (yes! that's 3! ) young members of staff were sent home as they each showed symptoms of the Corona Virus. 'Touch wood' (oooh err missus ) No one has shown full blown symptoms nor been tested 'positive'.John F wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 9:58 pmI fully accept the reasons behind this but I have no idea as a self employed Gardener whether I can go to work tomorrow .Essential work only ,what does that mean? .OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 8:58 pmPrime Ministers Statement:

I work for the local authority and they have yet to say whether we should or must return to work or not - They described our department/work as 'essential' last week and yet now they are uhmming and arrring - _ They have now distributed more laptops to the managers who - all bar one - now work from home while the rest of us are left in no-mans land...The CEO and his bunch of cronies are feckking USELESS!..
So in a nut-shell mate you are not alone...you may be in isolation but you are not alone. Even those of us supposedly who work within established departments and structures have been given no clear or concise directions or instructions.
On a lighter note the Daffs I planted last Spring are coming up roses!

Don't forget do not cut them back for at least six weeks otherwise they might not flower next year .I think my trade is fucked to be honest as it is this time of year that we make our money. There are much more serious problems then mine out there so I'll just have to put up with it and look for a job at Tesco.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:51 amI know what you mean mate, first 95% of our staff were sent home last week after 3 (yes! that's 3! ) young members of staff were sent home as they each showed symptoms of the Corona Virus.
