Members Day!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Members Day!

Post by Basil is a Gooner »

Well its that time of year again, Member's Day! If you haven't seen it on Arsenal.com yet, now is the time to register your membership details for August 7th's extravaganza! Lets hope its not as boring boring as last year....
There is a bit of the problem with the system registering Junior Gunners but if you phone up they can sort it (so now my kids can sit with me - maybe not such a good idea after all :? :? )
Let's just hope that by then we still actually have some players left.......

Well last year was a bit of a non event (although slighty better than the year before at Highbury!). You sit in the lower tier and watch the players train. Last year all the big names were there but to be honest there wasnt much atmosphere and they didnt really acknowledge the crowd (i.e their fans!).
I know that Redaction has raised this issue with the Club so maybe this year things will be better. We can hope :? Its still a good opportunity to go to the Grove and try out a few different seats.

Meant to say there are usually around 8000 Gooners in attendance.
Anyone else going?

I probably will - although haven't decided for certain yet.

I agree that it hasn't exactly been riveting in the past. I remember seeing Chavski do something similar, but their 'fan day' had more interaction between the players and the supporters. The players were throwing tee-shirts and kicking footballs into the crowd, as well as signing the fans autographs!!

Compare that with what happens at our gaff. I hope Arsenal have learnt their lesson and make the event more inter-active.

Wouldn't waste a days holiday for it.
Went for the first time last year because it was at Emirates and my son wanted to see it.
Laid a few activities on for kids on the concourses so if youve got youngsters its a good experience for them.
Just dont expect too much as a previous gooner posted, they dont acknowledge you and big names werent there last year due to world cup.

Yes the Chavs day was more crowd friendly and more of a "members" day with a much better atmostphere.
Last year TH14 was still "on holiday" but Cesc, RVP, Adebayor etc were there, although only trained half-heartedly on the pitch for half of the session. They then left it to the likes of Hleb, Rosicky etc, but no player even gave us a wave.
I'm sure I have read a Gooner article about it.

Lets hope this time we can show off our first "piece a da silva" this season...

The players never waved at me & my little sister during the dull, cold, boring winter session which i pulled her out of school so she could see the stadium
They said around the stadium they would lay out things for fans to do but nothing was there
They wanted mor emoney by saying to fans why not go to the musuem
I hope to take her to a nice warm summer event ovet the stadium to see the likes of Sagna etc train
Hope they have a good line up on Saturday, it's a shame for Barnet as i wanted them to sign Palour but i don't think they could do that all the sudden now

Just signed up for members day! Not sure what to expect to be honest! But lets face it I'm a student, its free, its arsenal (might make up in part for shedding out £60 for a champions league ticket). Cant go too wong.....

Even if it is a complete waste of time i will use the opporunity to get my home shirt replaced! Do they check receipts?

I know it says time is TBC but do any of you guys/girls know what time it has started in previous years??
