My only point is that I don't agree that everyone on here has accepted it. Most haven't. Most dont think Arteta is up to the job.
A shame you didn't name the other four punters. I believe Poppa roddaz is "preparing" the sock as we speak....

I'll share the names with you and Rodders if you share the sockDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 11:06 amI am not quoting that mate.![]()

Really?? Think I've lowered my standards to the kroenke's. We don't have a single world class centre half - just has beens, never will be's, bang average Joe's and one with potential like Gabriel. The key was getting rid of ozil. As soon as he left, so did his followers at the club.
Loan deals for AMN, Willock, Saliba and Guendouzi will either make them better players for us, or gain some value whilst the market is dead during the pandemic. Minutes on the pitch normally increases a young players value.
The squad has been significantly trimmed down and the players brought in on loan, appear to have strengthened our squad options. Ryan is an established premier league goalie, unlike Macey and Runnarson, and Odegaard appears to be an upgrade on Ozil and willock in the no.10 role, giving back up to ESR, who is injury prone and has only broken into first team this season.
With only the league and the Europa League to occupy Arteta, we will get a proper look at what he can do with the players at the club he wants to work with. Starting with wolves tomorrow night, and a win takes us up to 6th, within touching distance of the top 4. A position which seemed unreachable in mid-december.
Last night's game means that if Southampton won their game in hand, and Leeds only one of their two, we are back in the bottom half of the table......2 points above Crystal Palace in Feburary
I'm afraid I see very few positives. The squad is still full of holes, this manager hasn't addressed the fundamentals, and we are a bang average (at best) mid table team that have spunked both domestic cups up the wall in shambolic fashion
Sorry lads, I see no positives at all. This is The Arsenal FFS - an elite club, in Europe's biggest city, with a mega rich owner, and a proud history. No other club at our level would hire a manager with zero experience. Chavski took a punt on a guy who only had 1 year's managerial experience and he's gone
It seems everyone here has allowed Kroenke to lower their own standards. It's ok to have a novice who makes mistakes on the job because he needs time to learn. We sound like fucking Derby County FFS........this is the Arsenal !
A terrible, terrible appointment - one doomed to failure from the start and I'm afraid you can dress it up however you want about a recent mini revival or what a heroic transfer window this has been (really????).......but have a look at the league table and the other competitions. We are back to the lowest spot since GG's final season over 25 years ago......slap bang in the middle of the table, and for my money no prospect of improving upon that any time soon

Good post Nos. The only bit I don't agree with is about the Academy. I don't agree it is set up to produce players for their football careers. For me it's there to produce Arsenal players. Nothing else. Whether those players that fail at Arsenal then go on to have a career matters nothing to me and should matter nothing to the people running the academy.Nos89 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:53 pmReally?? Didn't you want Lacazette to be sold when he wasn't scoring in Emery's last half season?
Saka, Xhaka and Soares are capable of covering LB. Gabriel, Mari and Holding may not be world class, but hardly has beens, and never will be's. With Medley and Saliba out on loan and hopefully will return and continue at Arsenal, the CB position looks in a better condition than it has done since 2006. Also, look around world football and list world class centre backs who were available in the last two transfer windows???
I'd say the academy is turning out potentially good players with as good a mentality as those who came through under Brady. Just look at the amount of ex-Arsenal academy players still playing at different levels. Academy is set up to produce players for their football careers. They may not all make it to The Arsenal first team, but occasionally they do, only to be shot down by their own supporters.
Arteta was never on my list of candidates I'd like to see at the helm. It's who we have got, and I'll support him. He's continued to get rid of the players we wanted rid of under Emery.
Every elite club goes through a dry, rocky, unstable time, unfortunately this is our time. We just got to stick with it and ride it out. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern all have had times like this and made it through. I'm confident The Arsenal will be back at the top sooner rather than later.
It depends on your definition of an elite club. We are an elite club on these shores - our history, trophy record and unbroken run in the top flight dictates that. However, we are not a European elite club. We've never won the big one, and our last win 27 years ago was the cup that they abandoned and rolled together with the UEFA Cup. To mention us in the same breath as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern is an insult to those clubs - you're talking about teams that have won everything and continue to hoover up domestic and European trophies on a regular basis.Nos89 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:53 pmReally?? Yeah, lets all knock Chris Wilder - whose team should never be in this division to start with and who overachieved on a scale not seen in this country since Wimbledon's day. A team who still had players from their League One days, and a team whose record signing up to last season was Ollie McBurnie and finished on par with us last seasonaugie wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 7:40 amDunno who lauded chris wilder as a top manager, but what I will say is that everything is relative - what he has achieved at that club on that budget, is outstanding, and the notion of sacking him is bizarre to me.
I think I heard the other day that they have lost 8 or 9 games by a scoreline of 1-0 this season - that shows how narrow their results have been from poor to decent, and it's not as if they are getting turned over

I know, they're bottom now, which clearly makes him a shit manager doesn't it, because being bottom of the PL is so much worse than the position of being in the lower half of League One and virtually bankrupt when he inherited the job
Honest to god.
