I still think with the right coaching over time, and the right manager Xhaka can develop into a decidely average player.

ESR is about the only one looking decent, the others have been shit. Arteta HAS to hook Pepe at half time for Odegaard but I bet he won't.....that's a 70th minute job a la Poppa Wenger :banghead:

After his escape with a yellow, Konsa was through the back of Lacazette there - second yellow? Not even a foul apparently.

Saka getting fouled deliberately all over the place - Grealish from behind for a second time - no thought of a card.

This ref is an absolute no-mark. We have been shit and it is no excuse, but the ref is simply scared to make decisions.
Just allowed a deliberate handball from that free kick to pass by without a booking.
They have obviously had the instruction in get stuck in at every opportunity....a lot of fouls from villa

No complaints from me about the Ref - I accept that they are all shit in the PL.

Tuesday night was different - blatant corruption.

Don’t know why Pepe is being criticised - I think he has been our best player - continually involved.

Smith Rowe again looks worn out - needs a break. At least he will get that this week now that we are out of the cup.

Woeful performance in the first half, nearly everyone was at least half a yard of the pace however we are 1-0 to a deflection after a piece of poor defending it is hardly as if the great Aston Villa are ripping us a new one every time they get the ball. Immaterial of how some may feel the Ref has been utter dogshite and has often ignored the round robin targetting of Saka by different Villa players.

Pepe is terrible, i've said it before and i'll say it again, he is not a PL footballer and never will be, he is utterly myopic when he gets the ball and his brain is about 30 secs behind his feet and you can tell his team mates feel similar, the opportunity for Laca to play him in about halfway through that half and instead Laca tries an impossible ball to Saka says it all for me.

Never mind......I'm sure El Beige will have Willian ready at half time as his first change

I’d bring on Auba and Odagaard now. I said pre match that Smith Rowe looks burned out and his performance was exactly that.

Auba is goals, we need to get him out there NOW.

Without wishing to cast any aspersions upon Butter Wrists Leno and upset the Leno Fanboys on here but that was a magnificent save from Martinez. Discuss.

Encroached the free kick AND blocked it with his arm - no yellow card

Auba has been shit this season Rodders, and i've seen nothing recently to change that..... our best goal scorer he may be but lets not pretend bringing him on in his current form is a game changer :rubchin:

Odegaard will be our new Denis Suarez or Kim Kallstrom.

First change will be Willian. Then Auba might get 20 minutes. Then one other inexplicable change - probably Elneny

Get fucking Martinelli out there now for Pepe!
