victoria line query

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

victoria line query

Post by gooner.ed »

the highbury spy is trying to convince me that the victoria line will be closed for maintenance for a number of weekends before the end of 2007, thus obviously affecting those travelling to matches by tube.

frankly, i think he's talking out of his posterior (insert own joke here) - but i am prepared to be proved wrong. can anyone actually shed any light on this. :?

well for those using the piccadilly line, things could get even more crowded. only result i predict is even more early leavers if it's true.

Planned works on the Victoria line
A list of planned station closures and track closures for the next six months is also available in PDF format.

Victoria VICTORIA LINE: On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July, suspended between Brixton and Highbury & Islington due to planned engineering works. Replacement buses operate between Brixton and Victoria only. Please use alternative London Underground and London Buses services where possible.

Lifts, escalators etc.
Green ParkGREEN PARK STATION: Until early August 2007 access and interchange to the Jubilee line will be restricted between 0700 - 1000 on weekdays. Customers entering the station, and those interchanging from the Victoria line will be directed via the Piccadilly line platforms and interchange passageways to reach the Jubilee line. To avoid using the long interchange subway, customers may find it easier to use alternative Tube routes and avoid changing onto the Jubilee line at Green Park. Customers leaving the Jubilee line at Green Park, and those travelling outside morning peak hours will be able to exit and interchange at the station as normal.
King's Cross St.PancrasKINGS CROSS ST.PANCRAS UNDERGROUND STATION: Reduced escalator service until early August.
StockwellSTOCKWELL STATION: Reduced escalator service until mid November.

sadly thats all I could find only 6 months into the year

From 23rd july 2007 to november 2007 the victoria line will close early at around 10:00/10:30pm to upgrade the line. so this mite affect an evening game in the early stages of the champs league. but other than that, it should be running as normal during the day, although expect delays at some time or the other as per usual on the london underground.

I know it's not running on Sundays at the moment. There's loads of posters all over Warren St station about it so I'll check when I go home tonight and let you know.
