Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has hit back at claims made by Chelsea striker Didier Drogba that the Gunners are no longer title challengers.

Drogba is adamant the north London side will struggle next season as a result of the sale of the influential Thierry Henry to Barcelona.

"So Drogba said we're out of the title race? We'll see what happens," Gilberto told The Sun newspaper.

"They spent a fortune last season and couldn't beat Arsenal in the league."

He added: "They didn't defend the title either, so I think Drogba is talking a little bit too much."
what a guy, he's like a stick of rock, with Arsenal written right through the middle!

Yeah, I love this guy,I think he's our best player, and easily the best choice for el Capitano, he's gonna be an Arsenal legend. I hope all you goons realise how fortunate we are to have him on the books. He is A WORLD CUP WINNING, WORLD CLASS. PLAYER. - EL CAPITANO
