TRANSFER SPECULATION - WHO ARE WE LINKED WITH?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Having never seen this arshavin guy before tonights game I have to admit that his showing tonight blew me away. I know some will point to a weak dutch defence but while that may be true it should not dilute what was a masterful performance from the russian 8)

Now we all know that wenger likes doing his shopping in bargain basement stalls that are less comercialised than other countries but I cannot see wenger going after a russian player in a million years. I am not sure if I think it might be an adaptation issue or what but is just a feeling I have. Saying that though I would be very very pleased if this particular russian joined us this summer :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

David SILVA...according to the London Paper.

Karim BENZEMA - The Guardian (though it casts doubt on this itself!)

Daniel GUIZA - The Daily Mail

Agree with IHH on this one...

F*** Guiza! Bring in Villa!

For once that we have a fairly good player that wants to play in red and white... (I'm not talking about the ones already commited eg: Clichy, Sagna, Cesc...) At least if we buy that lad we won't have to worry about any transfer rumour! :banghead: :banghead:

Dont disagree with you IHH and frenchgun on the whole guiza rumour but for me the scariest rumour so far has us linked with luca toni :worried:
He looked a good player a few seasons ago but looks like an old carthorse now - jesus that german league must be shite

Actually there's been loads of great players who've wanted to play for us down the years but Wenger rejected them

Same case with Gomez, they both score loads in Bundesliga but were/ have been woeful in Euros :?

If we sell Ade, we have to get an upgrade, not go and bring Kanu back

such as who?

Were they really that great if Wenger rejects them?

I am not talking about players out of our budget.

I can't think of any established world-class players that are/were in our budget. :?

Linked to Roman Pavlyuchenko by Arsene Wenger in The Independent!

"There were no hints from Wenger on who he might buy, although he confessed to being impressed with the work rate of the Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. With the Arsenal manager understood not to be interested in his Russia team-mate Arshavin on the basis of his age, it could be the man from Spartak Moscow who catches his eye. "Russia have a player in Pavlyuchenko who opens space for others," he said. "You think he won't go again and, yes, he goes again. He opens the door for other players and he does it extremely well."

So we're really looking for a doorman then?

Seriously, the guy looked quite handy against Holland, tho reminded me of Bendtner a little.
