Don't hero worship him so much, he's only a player after all. Allbeit a great one. Arsenal FC doesn't evolve around teenagers

I was pleased with the initial headline but thoroughly pissed off about the content of the report.

Yeah he's staying - for now - but the the fcuk is he doing talking to other clubs?

He either wants to stay or he doesn't - if he wants to stay 100% then why talk to Madrid?

Somebody on this thread referred to the meeting as a 'general chat' - about what do you think - fishing? the weather? Eastenders? or possibly the fact the new Madrid coach has already said he wants him and the President of Madrid has been after him for a while?

It stinks - it's 'Ashley Cole bumps in to Kenyon and Mourinho purely by chance' all over again but with a different cast.

I suppose we should just get used to the fact that loyalty is dead - unless you want to pay £0000000's of pounds in wages to players to keep them sweet.

Cheers Cesc but do us a favour and don't think we are all bloody morons!

 It's too easy to gloss over the facts here by discussing our delight that the best young footballer in the world (messi who ?) is staying with the gunners but we cannot escape the fact that he met with THE 2 madrid representatives regarding a transfer. Did he do this with the knowledge of the club or did he, as would be more likely, meet behind the clubs back ? If it was the latter it contradicts all the "I Love Arsenal & Arsenal is my team" statements he has come out with lately. We love you cesc (in a non gay way of course) but this aint no way to treat "your club". It concerns the shit out of me as well that next year we will have the cesc saga replacing the annual PV4 & Henry sagas. If our club/board ever grows enough balls to stand up to the spanish whores (real & barca) and report them for illegal approaches then maybe it will put an end to this bullshit every year. It is easy to stand up to small clubs like chelski and report them to fa but if we want to be classed as a big club then we have to show that we will not be bullied & intimidated by other so called big clubs. C*nts

Cesc is an awesome player but I'm going to avoid hero worship. Hopefully he'll turn out to be loyal like Dennis, but let's face it, Dennis was one in a million.

Let's make the most of Cesc while we've got him because I'm pretty certain he won't be seeing out his 8 year deal.

Cesc staying?

Post by lowerwest »

First time poster so be gentle!

You can read the Cesc two ways & i think it isnt a secret that he will go back to Spain one day to play for Real or more likely Barca. Question is when...the comments today make me think that day is nearer than we thought. I can seriously see it being next summers hot potato following on from PV4 and TH.

Get used it we are a nursery club to the big boys.

I am probably gonna get flamed into oblivion for this but I am not too worried about this cos if you think about where Cesc is from, sports probably the two most glamourous clubs sides in the world, factor into this that it is his home country, and it's pretty easy to see why he has made no secret of the fact that he wants to go back there to see out his career probably at the age of 25 while he's still in his prime, when he still has two years left on his contract so that we'll see a decent fee for him after 9 years of loyal service!
I don't think that there could've been anything too untoward happening otherwise we wouldn't have heard about it, Real are obviously aware of his intention to return to La Liga and are probably askin him to keep them in mind, cos everyone assumes he's goin to return to Barca, AW has always been aware of Cesc's future plans, hence the unusual 8yr deal!
Anyway anybody in the game will tell you that tapping up goes on all the time and always has done altho clubs only seem to kick up a stink, when one of their top players is tapped up by a serious rival (and Sp*rs  ) it's a grey area where European rivals are concerned, even Chelsea only got a slap on the wrist even tho they were caught red handed, I mean the fact that they held the meeting in a bar in a London hotel sez it all!
Even Taggart's never done tappin our players up, most prominently, two of our most legendary captains no less, in PV4 and TA with him famously telling big Tone that he was actually a Utd player wearin the wrong shirt!
Don't get me wrong I hope things progress sufficiently enough at the Grove that Cesc changes his mind and stays, but the most important thing is that he gives 110% on the pitch while he is there cos that is surely the one and only true test of his longing, cos he has certainly shown the Arsenal spirit by gettin into rucks with opposin players and verbals with opposin managers most notably the one-liner he hit Mark Hughes with  and it's when that changes you can start to question his commitment!
