Tomas Rosicky believes the lack of new faces in the Arsenal squad will prove to be an advantage next season.
Although Thierry Henry and Jeremie Aliadiere have left the club and Dinamo Zagreb striker Eduardo da Silva has arrived, the vast majority of Arsenal's first-team squad has remained relatively unchanged so far.
And while some critics, including team-mate William Gallas, have suggested Arsene Wenger needs to spend more money to compete for the title, Rosicky believes the lack of change will help the team.
"Of course, I know that Thierry Henry has left the club and that Eduardo has come in," he told his official website.
"Nevertheless, most of the players have remained and it is good news ahead of the new season.
"In the last season, our young team has been trying to reach the same tune. In the new season, we can move a step higher and profit from the previous one."
If he believes then i Believe
Tomas Rosicky, i've loved you ever since you scored a double at Anfield
Now i love you even more
nice 2 see a positive statement from an arsenal player,, i feel ur squad is big enough 2 challenge this year. remember it was ur failings against the bottom 6,, not the top 6...that cost us last season
I think i have an answer to the O.Martins transfer/possible transfer.
If we can't afford him like some reports suggest why don't we offer Feddy Ljungberg to newcastle because Big Sam wanted him while he was at bolton so might still feel the same way. i don't want Freddy to go i love him (2002 cup final ) i would rather send Senderos on his way but not sure Big Sam wants him.
All i know i really would like to sign O.Martins hes a bit of muscle that Arsenal need
knew we had a good player since i saw him in the world cup, if he and a few others have an injury free season i think some silverware may not be out of the question after all.
Not only did he have to adapt to a new league (which is harder for players 25 and above as they are more set in the ways of whatever league they've been playing in) and a new team, he also had to adapt to a new position. Add in the fact that 3 or 4 injuries during the season disrupted his momentum, preventing him getting a sustained run in the team and it becomes clear he will be a much better player this year!
Rosicky is a wonderful player. As soon as I heard we signed him, and watched him against USA at the World Cup that same week or so, I knew I had a new favourite at the gunners.
His 'trademark' goals are spectacular, and I hope he scores a lot more in his time with us.
And good on him for actually publically supporting the team, again, unlike another member of our squad.
Rosicky is one of the players that gonna have to take a step up now. This season will depend on how players like him, Van Persie, Adebayor, Eboue, Clichy develops. We will need them to take the last step to become the kind of class acts they were meant to replace.
Tomas i think u are a fantastic player and all round top human being but this is total tosh. It is quite clearly a bit of spin on what has been one of the worst summers for Arsenal EVER. Yes we have brilliant talent coming through and yes if they stay together they will one hell of a team in a few years but the damage being done by the short sighted attitude of our board will hurt us. Think about where we were in 2004 and then think about now. It doesnt look great.
