As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why rush a process that appears to be working?
It's been over a year so a few more weeks shouldn't be a hardship.
Gotta call from my Dr today to say I'm getting my vaccine next Fri ,not sure which vaccine I'm getting ,I'm 52.The register for my age group 50-59 wasnt opening till next week ,so I didn't even have to register ,the only reason I can think why I'm getting mine so early is maybe because of the medication Im on for my psoratic arthritis ,as it's an autoimmune disease.

I think they're ahead of the curve in most areas. You should have been called before now with your age and health so that's surprising.
Your vaccine will depend on where you're due to go. Doctor's/Pharmacy will likely be Pfizer. Other sites will be Oxford AZN

My mother is getting her 2nd jab next Friday and she has dementia, so I just thought it strange I'd be getting a vaccine so quick ,a friend of mine who is in the 60+group suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and she hasn't got a date for her 1st jab
My dad's got both his jabs and it was Pfizer and Pfizer for my mam as well ,so reckon like you said mine will be also the same

My wife had her first on Tuesday. She's 45 with no health issues. Suppose it depends on your area.

Spot on.
Of course those people who want to re open now are forgetting that if the country had locked down properly in the first place or even last autumn when the scientists told the government to then we would probably be fully open by now already!
I still can’t believe we don’t have ALL borders shut to prevent the Indian mutation finding its way here.
Until the rest of the world gets itself sorted out this is very much not over.
For once I think Boris has got the reopening spot on in terms of timing. The Indians took things the other way and are paying the consequences of thinking the virus was beat.
Whilst as a country we are well vaccinated, it doesn’t take much of a mutation to dodge the vaccines and then we will be back to square one. More infections equals more changes in the viruses genetic makeup.
That doesn’t mean stay at home, just think about what we are doing in terms of socialising etc.
If it gets me into the pubs quicker they can inject me with anything lol
Gooner Valley beergarden pubs chargiing up to £7.00 a pint, I think I'll wait until the rest of the boozers are opened,
That is taking the piss bigtime!
Last time the pubs re opened for a short time here in my town, only an increase of 20c on a pint of lager ,rounded it up to an even fiver, approx 4.49 sterling so not too bad .

What area, Islington? They have always taken the piss that way with beer prices in pubs. Pretty much the same as Central London.
I am much more of a social drinker these days, will go to the pub before footy or a special occasion rather than just go for the sake of it. I would much rather buy a crate of lager or a bottle of wine/spirits from and supermarket and enjoy them in the garden with a bbq with family/friends.
Whilst their is no doubt there has been a virus and horrible deaths around it ,the government have throughout this used it as a method of control as well as lining their own pockets .
The current rules on pubs are a joke ,once the shops open and schools went back we are open end of but the ludicrous rules on pubs and restaurants are taking the piss .
And we no have a shortage of vaccines ........again , I rolled up for mine to be told the center was closed because of no vaccines ,it had been closed all week !
The more i look at this the more im convinced that the virus was man made by big pharma to make even more money !

Because every week that passes with supporting closed businesses is costing us billions - a burden that will be passed on to the 'squeezed middle' for generations to come, as this is now approaching war like debt levels.

I think we need to get a bit of perspective here Steve. There is a lot of pent-up demand in the UK economy. The Americans have thrown a lot more money at their economy than we have to the tune of $1.9trn and they have also put together a huge stimulus plan to get the economy going by focusing on infrastructure.
That's exactly what we should be doing rather than worrying about Pubs and Restaurants allowing people to sit indoors so they can make a few quid, The whole structure of the UK economy is wrong, it relies far too much on low paid low skilled jobs and that's why people are clamouring for the economy to reopen because there are many people dependent on these industries.
All the people I know that work in the professions ie Accountancy, Financial Services, Law, Technology says their firms have barely been touched by the pandemic. In fact, they are busier than ever.
Just look at the US stock market, it's hit new all-time highs on many occasions this year. There is a reason for that. My point is throwing money at an ailing economy hit by a pandemic doesn't have to prevent opportunities for the next generation if it's allocated in the correct way. The FT article explains my point.
