As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Mine was 1978 too,my mam and I were watching it ,both wanting Ipswich to win until she gave out to me for something ,so I told her I wanted Arsenal to win and been a fan since that day
Sheffield Wednesday was also my first, watched it in a pub inhaling 7-up as a 13 year old young fella with my dad and a load of gooners. I remember being excited for weeks before the match (especially since we’d already beaten them in the league cup a few months before - how the fuck is that still our last league cup triumph by the way???) and was absolutely gutted when we didn’t life the trophy after Wrighty put us ahead.
Bar that handball Henchoz cheating fuck disaster of a final I have nothing but superb memories of cup final day, it really is our competition.
Freddie’s goal doesn’t get the credit it deserved either, ran from halfway, bounces Terry off like he was a schoolgirl, and curls a peach into the top corner
1971 watched attended the 1978 final when I was 15 on my own .I couldn't face going to school on the Monday so I bunked off for the very first time and because I got away with it I carried on doing it.I blame Arsenal for my lack of Education, Bastards. The teacher read out my forged note to the class saying I was sick and they all laughed.
