The great herd immunity experiment will start on Monday.

Our government has now decided that enough people have been vaccinated to allow the virus to rip through the rest of the population before winter. If you haven't been vaccinated, they want you infected. If you have been vaccinated and are unlucky enough to end up in hospital/dying, tough shit you are collateral damage.

The very least the government could do is put some breaks on community transmission. Mask wearing being one of them. But oh no, we have to rely on our fellow citizens to mask up without being told to do so. I was in Wood Green last week, Tottenham shithole/stronghold and most people didn't care about masks and that's while it was law.

The rest of the world is looking in on this real-time experiment.

The country is more interested in Marcus Rashford. A guy who fluffed a penalty. Would rather we went out in the Group than to have bottled the Final. All it has done is fuel more wokery because a few hundred Neanderthals decided to racially abuse the penalty missers. The inference is quite clearly now that the whole county is racist. Every single white man in the country is a racist. That is the clear inference. How can this country turn a positive of getting into the first Final in 55 years into a massive exercise in self harm? I find it astounding. Ultimately we took bad penalties. That’s all that happened. We bottled the biggest chance in two generations. We will never win a tournament in our lifetimes.

It is certainly crazy being in a big crowd at the moment - I was at Wimbledon last week. Like going back in time. Once inside everyone maskless, queuing up at the bar. I deleted my NHS app whilst there as I thought it was fairly likely I would be pinged

48,000 new cases today and 63 deaths.
And this is before the free for all next week!

Utter madness
We are the only country in the world who has considered dropping all restrictions whilst the infection rate is still surging upwards!

I would say that it should greatly depend on the reason why people havent been vaccinated - if people have been offered the vaccination and turned it down for anything other than pre existing conditions, then fcuk them as far as I am concerned. I didnt want the vaccine but I took it to get my country opened back up again, and I dont see why these c.unts should benefit from other peoples sacrifices. If they dont want to take the vaccine, then if they get covid it is on them and I dont give a shit if they are hospitalised. I am vaccinated but I know that does not mean that I cannot get covid, so all I can do is protect myself as best I am. Over here they are opening indoor dining and training in a fortnights time (way way behind the rest of europe), but that is only to those who have been vaccinated and those that can prove that they have had covid within the last 6 months cos they are immune for 6 months. Because we have not offered the vaccine to under 18s yet, we are allowed bring those out for a meal if they are with vaccinated people, but the dickhead over our infections dept wants those kids to wear their school uniforms when going out for a meal - have you ever in your life heard anything so ridiculous ??

The not wearing masks thing is bizarre to me - nobody likes wearing the masks (especially in this hot weather), but is it such a big sacrifice to wear them for the time being ?

should still be mask wearing in certain situations by law, crazy not to put that in place, whats so difficult about people having to wear a mask, such a hardship...i will keep wearing one for sure.

but re the whole reopening, the 'freedom day ' bollox as ever it wont make a rats ass's difference to most people other than rob (so he can drink at the var and chat to bar staff as i imagine hes bored his mates to death over brexit, the virus etc ;) ), life has been back to normal to amost intents and purposes for a couple of months for vast majority of uk population, and all this freedom day crap will be invisible to all but a few plebs making a thing of it.

the massive spike in cases is a concern but if not now when are the gov ever going to make a fist of 'getting back to normal'? mid summer should be the best time to do this, as indoor mixing is reduced naturally as is the prevalence of other respiratory illnesses and the ability of the virus to survive in the air (you would think).

yes its a balance with jabs, but waiting for everyone to be jabbed would mean bleeding into late summer/autumn and colder weather, and endless winter proper lockdowns.

imo its now or never if they want to go back to normal. (personally and very selfishly i have no issues with mild lockdowns for ever more as have not been hindranced by not being able to stand at a bar or mix with a load of morons in a free for all for drinks...the app methods is much better imo or other equivalent 'hardships', but appreciate thats very selfish perhaps...) the football really hasnt helped and came at worst time (well i suppose worst time would be after 'freedom day', but its clearly helped the massive spread currently seen.

ultimately we gonna have to live with covid for evermore, the delta variant would only ever have been delayed (as we see in europe, it has inevitably spread and will continue to contrary to a point i had with NFG, and become the dominant variant there, until it morps again, which it surely will).

i think the uk is hoping it burns itself out here, as surely it must? (and seems to be doing in scotland now), and then its a case of wait and see...

i would maintain a full travel ban though as until the rest of the world gets its shit in order there will be new variants aplenty and we wont be able to stop them getting here, just delay them.

to rob and others, if not opening up domestically now, then when do we do it?

I would suggest when the day that the population have been double jabbed plus 2 weeks is about right .
However the point of my postings are to illustrate just how easy it is to spread it. Here in sleepy Norfolk on the coast we have had very low rates but of course the holiday makers are arriving and the rates are increasing at a considerable rate.

well you certainly don't lift restrictions when cases (& deaths) are rising as fast as they are currently!

I would like to know what your qualifies you to say what you have but to me it just looks like you have swallowed all of the Government propaganda. Boris must love people like you! :D

Most of the world's scientists are horrified about what is to happen in the UK
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/ ... xperts-say

The point is this - IF YOU HAVE HIGH INFECTION RATES THEN THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF THE VIRUS MUTATING. If it starts to be vaccine resistant then this country is fucked. No other country in the world is taking the risk that the UK is going to take.

Absolutely hilarious that you see the risk is from overseas and that they need to get their shit in order.
The new variants won't be coming in from outside - we will be exporting them !!! :banghead:

Sadly, that is what happens when selfish fuckers delete the app, so they don’t get pinged and happily spread it about, without a care in the world for others.
