As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Tbh I kinda liked Smoothy. He was a decent enough guy, and die hard Arsenal, just a bit odd. Particularly when pole dancing and miming "don't stop believing" !!
Yes the poll. Epic stuff!!
I liked Smoothy too. Wasn't a bad fella at all.
Hmm ok, you only joined in 2020 yet remember Smoothy

So which poster were you then in a former life?
Could have just been lurking in the shadows, watching us all, waiting to pounce…….

PS do you have a Mac, Columbo style ?
The lecturers at university used to call me Columbo because I’d often go to ask them questions, then as I was leaving their office I’d stop, turn around and say “just one more question…”

Quartz was without doubt a thinking mans guy - he could have a rational debate with anyone regardless of what side of the fence you were perceived to be. I still have great respect for the guy cos of the way he conducted himself in debate on here (a lesson a d*ckhead on here could learn), even though we rarely agreed on a point of view
Yeah, it was a real shame that Quartz left. Probably my favourite poster over the 13 years (how long?! ) that I’ve been posting here. He rarely got carried away, had interesting views (football, politics, music, etc) and was happy to argue a point in a respectful way. Big loss … you make the top 10 too augie
I could understand why he left but it was disappointing that he deleted his account. No way to contact him or for him to log in from time to time to comment. Never understood that really but never mind.
Hope you’re well Quartz”y wherever you are
You just never know what is happening in people’s lives outside of the forum (aka the real world)
I come on here pretty much most days, would miss the banter and chat with my fellow Gooners if I didn’t, but at the end of the day, it’s really not important in the great scheme of things is it ?
Same as football in general. Would miss it like crazy, despite Arsenal driving me mad, but there are more important things in life.
( I would never have thought this as an youngster 1987 - 1995, were the best years of my life, following this club home, away and abroad and loved every moment.
I’ve officially turned into an old fart
Awww mate! Why are you being so hard on yourself?
I mean we already knew that or have you only just realised?

good point, i dont post much, but lately ive had a flurry, i usually mostly read, currently i check this place out a few times a day in the working week and a couple of times on the phone at weekday, usually when on the bog! but i have dropped off for months when having shit go off in my life and this place seems pointless, but then slowly becomes a welcome distraction, even if it wasn't what it once was!

Everyone still excited about the transfers, like Josh wants us to be?
I could hardly care less. Last transfer I was excited about was Ozil, but that didn’t turn out so great. Maybe Sambi will be a Martinelli-like signing that will turn out to be pretty decent.

Apparently, he's a great passer , reads the game well and gets stuck in. He'll last about three games before Arteta decides he doesn't need the last two and gives him 15 minutes every six weeks with the instruction of "just pass it back to the keeper every time "

I wish the lad well as I do with all new signings but it galls me when we go out and buy 'promise', as I see it as the job of our Academy to do that. How can Anderlecht with their resources produce kids that can walk straight into our team and supposedly cost us £18m or so, at his tender age? Surely we should be spending what money we do have on proven class (aged 25-30) and supplementing it with our own kids?
Granit Xhaka will sign for AS Roma ‘in a few days’, where Jose Mourinho is waiting for him, after Arsenal confirmed the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga. [@angelomangiante] #afc
