Coupled with the fact we sold a better keeper than Ramsdale for only £16m and it’s sheer incompetence at bestArsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 2:45 pmAll joking aside I'm honestly very concerned about what's going on at the club.
We have the chance to sign Onana for less than 10m, and we are set to spunk £30m+ on a goalkeeper that conceded kber 60 goals in the PL last season. Runnerson was statistically the worst backup goalkeeper in the French league but we pushed to sign him. Both on the recommendation of that goalkeeping coach. There's something VERY iffy going on, and I'm not even trying to joke. A club that so clearly needs rebuild is throwing millions on players who are so clearly not good enough and it's becoming frequent.

I'd go back a little bit further to 2005. Wenger peaked and went into full narcasist megalomaniac mode by inexplicably breaking up the Invincibles and moving onto Project Youth.Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 4:43 pmIs it a coincidence that that was around Kroneke took full control, in 2011, give or take.GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:23 pmWhat pisses me off more than anything is all the celebrity ex players and superfans like Wright, Keown and fucking Piers Morgan who if they are so astute must be able to see there is something very wrong with our transfer dealings but for the sake of their club access keep schtum!
I know some clever fucker will talk about being careful not to commit slander or libel but there are ways around that, ffs Morgan has walked that line for decades in his day to day work.
These people imply that there is no end to their love for the club but in reality they are cowards who hide when things are going bad and have very gentle digs from the sidelines.
Our transfer dealings have been very 'odd' for nearly a decade now, failing miserably to get top targets, under selling players, struggling to offload unwanted players, last day trolley dashes and overpaying time and again either on loans or permanent transfers, the sickening thing is it is mainly pundits who despise us who point out how shit our deals are.....![]()
I'd argue that we are crap at getting players from around 08 but we never actively went for the worst players possible.![]()
With the exception of a few like Alexis and early Ozil most of our signings since have been no more than average+ at best.
It has got worse over the last 10 years though as our gradual demise is testament to.

Sky Sports report Newcastle & Joe Willock are a distance apart on agreeing personal terms despite a fee being agreed with #Arsenal for the midfielder. https://t.co/rO7hwMwYiF

Some very strange decisions over the last decade. If it was my business I would get the Fraud Squad in to investigate what is going on.

Reports have suggested Inaki Cana has heavily influenced the Ramsdale deal as he did with Runarsson, but @Football_LDN understands this isnt the case. Instead its the team of analysts who have had the largest say, just as they did in the move for Ben White.https://t.co/yvWNXnpC88

Statistically let in more goals than anyone. Made less saves to goals than anyone.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 6:20 pmReports have suggested Inaki Cana has heavily influenced the Ramsdale deal as he did with Runarsson, but @Football_LDN understands this isnt the case. It all boils down to the same thing for me......Arteta and Edu are NOT the people to be in charge at Arsenal. Arteta is a disaster, pure and simple.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Edu for me is worse, because he is more senior and more experienced. Arteta is exactly what i'd expect from someone with his lack of experience at such a high level but Edu is supposed to be the voice of reason, the one who puts the brakes on and is sensible with the dealings, but for me he seems even worse, the questionable penchant for chasing players affiliated with his own agent just speaks volumes.
Garlick was supposed to be a breath of fresh air someone who took command of the deals and brought 'clarity', yet so far i'm not convinced anything has changed.

Absolutely, as soon as the Chavs were bought out and bankrolled, he became obsessed with doing it his way, which meant penny-pinching in an effort to prove his point. He, in essence, sacrificed the club's potential success for his own vanity and ego.Clummo99 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:32 pmI'd go back a little bit further to 2005. Don't worry, we'll bugger this up and he'll remain an Arsenal player stuck on the side lines for eternity.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:47 pmSky Sports report Newcastle & Joe Willock are a distance apart on agreeing personal terms despite a fee being agreed with #Arsenal for the midfielder. https://t.co/rO7hwMwYiF

Arsenal have reportedly made an offer for €50m for Martin Ødegaard. Madrid however want €60-€70m for the Norwegian midfielder.

Sky Sports say #Arsenal remain in talks with Sheffield United over goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale but a gap in the player's valuation between the two clubs remains. https://t.co/CbGa7wttAO
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Yep, how he was indulged and allowed to do that is sickening. We were in the best possible position that we could ever be to kick on and dominate for years but it was all scrapped in the name of vanity.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 7:33 pmAbsolutely, as soon as the Chavs were bought out and bankrolled, he became obsessed with doing it his way, which meant penny-pinching in an effort to prove his point.
