Why are people on here so objectionable to players we may sign who are better than we currently have?
Countinho, Abraham, Ramsdale.
I'd settle for Jack Wilshere.

It's questionable that Ramsdale is any better than Leno for a start but also he and Abraham are certainly not worth the fees being reported.
Fair enough, but I am willing to judge odegaard based on the 5 months he had with us last season, and no way would I be in favour of signing him, especially for the type of money being suggested. The second part of my reasoning is that I still feel that signing a 10 should be down our list of priorities - a right back and an 8 are an absolute must, at least one good standard of keeper (not ramsdale of course), and MAYBE a centre forward if laca and auba leave (unlikely imo), but signing a 10 or a winger even if absolutely ridiculous when we have so many more pressing needs. We have a limited budget as it is and pissing it away on more unecessary purchases is criminal, and it seems that we are going down the manure road in recent seasons where we are trying to sign what we view as "names" rather than for needs
Coutinho is another Willian waiting to happen. tempting in the fact he is a big name player with pedigree & gettable, although who is too old & would come with a high salary & that would continue into the wrong side of 30. He would also crowd ESR.
These are the low hanging fruit signings we need to avoid. Especially when they want PEA or Lacazette in return. Coutinho was one of their bonkers singing where Bartomeu just spend mindless money on fees and salaries. Coutinho are players we need to avoid.

Absolutely agree mate. Priority is rightback, keeper and central midfielder (in that order for me) for those of us outside looking in. It obviously isn't the same for those inside looking out.
Can only think that the Countinho rumours are half Arteta looking for more creativity and half Edu helping his mate and maybe himself (allegedly )

Totally agree with above comments...worry being any transfer budget we do have being wasted
According to @David_Ornstein, Héctor Bellerín is determined to leave #Arsenal this summer & is understood to be growing extremely frustrated at what he perceives to be a reluctance from the club to sanction his exit. https://t.co/6X2Sc13Uao
Bellerín is said to have made his desire clear to Mikel Arteta & technical director Edu & is even prepared to take a pay cut if it will help a transfer materialise. #Arsenal https://t.co/eRJjQ9qTX9

I’d really like a new right back but we’ve had no luck shifting Bellerin and we’ve also got Cedric, Chambers and AMN. Until we can shift 2 or 3 of those (looking unlikely this summer) then signing ANOTHER right back would be utterly mental!
Also, signing a number 8 when Partey will be playing that role isn’t a priority for me. A striker is a priority because we don’t have one (Auba is a winger these days and Laca is a static number 10 with not enough pace or energy to get into a no9 position). No fucking way do I want to see Tierney, Saka and ESR crossing balls into no one all season. Again.

Issue is we need a 8, Partey is the man but he is turning up to be one injury every other month, how long is this going to carry on for?
Same with KT, really one of our positive players but I am put a fiver down with my mate that he is picking up something within the first 10 games of the season. Is our medical department filled with donkeys too, thought it was just the board.
We should've punted on Jovic when he left RM on loan back to Frankfurt or someone like Silva.
