I remember it being reported at the time that Arteta encouraged Willian to sign that and 200k a week.augie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 2:27 pmDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 1:39 pmI don't buy for a minute this bullshit theory that Martinez-Lite has zero say on signings. Edutard might have the final say but you can bet your shrivelled up bald old bollocks that Martinez-Lite is consulted. They are equally culpable in my eyes.
And nowhere does that apply to more than in the case of willian - if a signing has been pushed on you, you dont continue to pick him week after week when he is absolute dogshite![]()

All I can see is our club in a downward Tail Spin and we fans can do absolutely FuckkAll about it.
The owners are in it for Profit but have No knowledge of Football - To them it's "Soccerrrr" and a way to make money and will only sell when it suits them and the club is about to fold as an ongoing enterprise
We have a manager who is so out of is depth it is scary and along with cuntts like Edu and the other twatt doing the buying and toing and froing are up to their eyes in incompetence and nice little earners, they are buying shyte players...
Talk about a Rudderless Ship on stormy seas...and the captain is Clive. Say no more

Areta quoted as below:
“I totally agree that Arsenal should not accept mediocrity.
“I know that people have the intention to bury us and try to criticise us but it is nothing new and I am not interested in that.
“I am not pointing at anyone, just expressing obvious feelings about some very disrespectful things that have been said.
“We need to put things into perspective because it’s one day of Premier League football under incredible circumstances and we have the whole season ahead of us.
“We knew the external consequences of that defeat at Brentford but any negativity that’s going to surround this club will be outside of these walls.
“I just want constructive people around me but if you don’t feel pressure in football then I think you’ve picked the wrong profession.
“We all have a responsibility to do our best but unfortunately the circumstances are uncontrollable so you have to adapt and do the best you can.
“You know you are going to be judged on results, but it doesn’t mean that you are doing a good or bad job because you win or lose football matches. I have had bigger challenges during my 18 months here and a lot of things have occurred during that time.
“Maybe now is not the right time to look at everything because a lot of people are not interested in analysing what has happened.
“But in two or three years’ time, when we look back with perspective, we will say ‘what happened makes a lot of sense’.”

In 2 or 3 years time when we have Mbappe and Haaland up top, yes it will all make sense.

Arteta has not been judged on results because any top 6 manager who lost four consecutive games to Wolves, Villa, Leicester and Burnley and wound up in 15th place before Christmas would be sacked.Redarmy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 6:49 amArteta quoted as below:

Every word of that could have been said by Wenger...Redarmy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 6:49 amAreta quoted as below:

He is Wenker mark 2, no doubt, trying to install his former manager’s idea’s which didn’t work back then and probably won’t work now.
I’m sure his intentions are good, but he just does not have the experience.

And probably was... They all sound like they came from his bible of his lord and failure...I think captain black had some serious coaching in how to manage the media with soundbites...DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 4:30 amEvery word of that could have been said by Wenger...Redarmy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 6:49 amAreta quoted as below:

88 games in charge now, and not a hint of improvement anywhere on the pitch.
Defence has gone backwards - absolutely all over the shop in the first 2 games. Totally unprepared for the season
Over coached. Boring, sterile football with zero end product
I said in his first 20 games I hadn't seen Arsenal play such tedious, mind numbing football since the mid 90s and its no better after almost 90 games - in fact its worse because back then we had one world class striker who still did the business, and now we don't.
