Way forward for Arsenal’s atmosphere is imagination (11/7)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Way forward for Arsenal’s atmosphere is imagination (11/7)

Post by gooner.ed »

Usual thread starter… not sure if the anthem will be sung during matches as it’s really something for just before the players come out, but let’s leave that debate to the already existing threads. What does interest me is any other ideas for initiatives to improve things, and there are a few in this piece. Not 100% convinced by them, but at this stage, I wouldn’t rule out anything. Time for a bit of blueskying everybody. I do remember the whiff of cannabis being a pretty frequent part of matchdays in the old East Lower, but I am not entirely sure it made people more involved in the on pitch activity!

You want atmosphere ... here's inspiration... Rc Lens Ligue 1 France, tifos, great song and they don't give a monkey's about health and safety...

The 'Ajax flag song' is class. Every time I go there it is amazing and one of the highlights of the trip!

By the way, the song is called 'Slavenkoor Met De Klokken'

At Highbury I always thought that a couple of huge cannons mounted on the roof of the North Bank going Boom after we scored would be nice. It would be great at the Grove I reckon, though Im sure the council would put a damper on that.

I wouldn't mind the flag ban being lifted so that fans can bring there flags & hang them arcoss the sides of the stadium
I love watching the England fans with the ammount of St Georges crosses hanginng all around
But speaking of flags many fans are very fussy on this so that is prob out of the picture
In Paris for example a big flag was getting pushed around the stadium but many fans didn't want to pass it around thus ruininng the plan
I love the idea of the shirts again or scarves but then with the scarves we need a good song for everyone to hang them up in the air & sing like the Liverpool faithful
Even if we have red, white etc cards on the seats then it may get us fired for the match

Talking of Rc Lens i remember there fans coming to wembly when we played our champions league games there.. They where awesome. Specialy liked the way every fan held up there scalf wen the players came out.. That could be something we could try.
