That miss of Martinelli's immediately after their equaliser :? :? :? Nobody has even mentioned it.....Astonishing really.

I understand that, but when you look at the replay again you will see that the ref blocked his view until the last second and he basically stepped by him and hit it first time
it can happen when you are running at speed, but yes should have buried it.....we should have gone 2 up......thats the decider

Peter Walton tying himself up in knots trying to explain the fix, in fairness to fish mouth Ferdinand he’s absolutely destroying him.
Would of loved to see that.

Hopefully it's on YouTube later on
Piglips and Lineker-Lite absolutely rinsed him.
Lee Dixon was doing a decent job with Dermot Gallagher too but these refs have an answer for everything. Refs are untouchable.
Walton didn't. He was talking in riddles. He sounded demented. Deffo worth a watch if it pops up on the yootoobs.

This is a test for Arteta. For the first time in years I actually support him. I have been scathing of him. 'Trust the process' - I never did it. But I have been humbled and 'the process' appears to have light at the end of the tunnel.

Arteta can do it. He can be a top manager and put together a really capable team in the next few years.

Heres the test. Does he show ruthlessness' with Xhaka and set a standard, or does he dither like Olé did with Harry Maguire, a hand grenade of a footballer who blows shit up every second week and gets the manager the sack.

Loving Piglips talking about personal responsibility and letting your team down regarding Gabriel. Well at least Gabi didn't skip a drug test after a night of coke and whores and get an eight month suspension huh. :-P

Always have been and always will be it seems. It's the only sport which has video officials but doesn't broadcast the conversations which lead to decions being made. For years and fucking years they have refused to have any accountability and have got away with lying to cover their backs after poor decions. The only conclusion I can come to is that it is so corrupt and so manipulated that nobody involved in the running of the game wants anything to change.

Partey today = outstanding :bowing21: :bowing21:
Superb absolutely bossed the middle, so frustrating that he doesn’t produce that type of performance more often or anything fucking close to it!

That was one of the best performances I've seen in years from us, proper fight and great to see us outplaying the best team in the league, but again stupidity and Xhaka go hand in hand and as long as he is at the club, we will get nowhere. Also, Gabriel has been excellent this season but wtf was he thinking while on a Yellow? It's like if something goes wrong we lose all composure.

On a side note, the levels of corruption in the game when it comes to officiating would rival Serie A back in '06. You have a penalty for us that supposedly wasn't clear and obvious yet BT could show it was a clear penalty at HT but in the 2nd half they did everything to ensure City's penalty was given. VAR only a few weeks ago didn't see a problem with Harry Kane being a dangerous *word censored*, some amount of brown envelopes floating about.

Odergaard likely to start....midfield has to be over run by City...way to immobile and if they also give away cheap possession which partey is prone to do....can see nothing but a defeat

On the plus side going forward with ESR, Saka, Tierney and the ever willing runner Martinelli we can sneak a goal or even 2

Going to be interesting as this is the acid test

How will Odergaard find space? how will Ben White stand up to the pressure? how will arteta set them up? will xkaha get sent off?........as i say going to be interesting
How is this the acid test , have you seen the form they're in ,we are not competing with City , most people would have been happy with a Europa spot this year and we are in with a chance of that at the halfway stage. Unfortunately whatever defeat we get it will be used as another stick to bash Arteta with because the progress we have made is sheer luck anyway apparently.
I just hope we dig in a bit and have some fight in us but certainly won't be judging our form on this game.
Thought we deserved the win, had some great performances today
Still not sure about White as a defender, Odergaard put in a lot of effort on the press...still prefer ESR and Saka linking up as they have a great understanding
Gabriel (leaving out the ill discipline) played well as did Partey suprisingly
Overall deserved the win but lost...team set up well TBH, (credit Arteta)....in the first half looked solid at the back and dangerous going foward should have gone into the break 2-0 up
xhaka challenge and gabrielle red changed it all, but that said a lot of positves and no one blaming arteta

Xhaka is such a thick c*nt. He’s impulsive like Luiz; making marginal penalty calls look absolute nailed on penalties because he can’t help but grab a bunch of the players shirt just to put the cherry on the cake for VAR to review. Idiot. :cussing:

The red for Gabriel was sickening because even at 1-1 I thought we had the character to react. But 10 men yet again against these lot is suicidal. We never learn.

Anyway, Partey was immense today. Bloody typical it’s in his last game before he heads off to the AFCON :x

All the other players were superb too. We definitely deserved a win if we hadn’t imploded.

Very encouraging performance.

2-0 up would have been the denied penalty on odergaard....not Martinelli miss (agreed confusing the way i wrote it)

Just seen that Peter Walton was doing his usual of defending the corrupt officials. That stupid prick offers zero insight into officiating and should be sacked.

Absolutely definitive. I originally thought it wasn't, but that angle was shown at half time by BT and it is clearly 100% a penno. You could aybe accept a ref missing that back in the day but the cheating VAR cùnts not calling that? Shameful. :censored:
