Adebayor the Supreme (1/7)
http://www.onlinegooner.com/exclusive/index.php?id=662
Usual thread starter… It will be interesting to see the reaction Adebayor gets if he does remain at the club. I suspect if he continues banging them in he will be forgiven for his effective courting of Barcelona. However, my instinct is that clubs will not meet Arsenal’s valuation of the player. So he’ll be offered a slight rise in return for extending his contract in that instance. The club’s way of ensuring his sell on value does not drop with his contract running down a bit further. But if Barca (or anyone) is prepared to offer £25 million, then Wenger will replace with better. Santa Cruz is the favoured option of many, and I’d be happier with him in an Arsenal shirt than Ade, as I think he’s more clinical and would score more. Injury worries are the only question mark there.

well done the doktor.
in a much more amusing way you have endorsed my sentiments expressed on various threads ever since that stupid song was first sung.
i need not comment further about those who repeatedly sung the song in the past few months suffice to saythat, as usual, more and more gooners have come round to my way of thinking when at time of first post immediately after fulham away game i was lambasted for daring to criticise ade, the song and those who sung it.
seems i will have no trouble finding volunteers to escort him to the airport.

Pleb, Adebarndoor and Flamoney
One reality regarding these three mercenaries who think they are bigger than Arsenal -
WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU IN FEB/MARCH???
You played 2/3 of a decent season - in Pleb's case the first in three years, in Flamoney's the first in four years and Adebarndoor - the first in two and a bit...
All three will fall on their arses elsewhere. Barca fans won't put up with Pleb's lack of goals/assists and they sure as shit won't tolerate Adebarndoor's ability to miss chances that proverbial grannys could put in with their pussy flaps.
FUCK ALL THREE OF THEM.

Adebayor might play for us next season, Vieira supposedly said far worse for a few summers in a row and remained a hero for many!
Adebayor has been naieve. He has been badly advised. He should have gone about any wish to move in secrecy.
Fans will forgive him if he gets 30 goals again as Goonered says.
He will though have to win us over if he stays.

Two hopes of winning us over Quartz I believe as despite his goals he was never that popular in the first place!QuartzGooner wrote:Adebayor might play for us next season, Vieira supposedly said far worse for a few summers in a row and remained a hero for many!

He may well have been badly advised but it was from his own mouth that he atarted spouting nonsense about being comparable with Henry! For once the NOTW came out with a decent piece comparing the two player acheivements. TH14 lots of medals...........EA25 goal of the year 2008!
He is quite clearly trying to orchestrate the move. Along with the Thierry comparison he has also stated that all parties do well if he is sold!
The guy is simply trying to engineer the move without handing a formal transfer request which would A) agreive the fans even further and B) relinquish any right he has to further financial rewards he contractually has!

Adeybayour
I think William Shakespeare said it best: " One Swallow does'nt make a summer" or as Colin Firth in the film Fever Pitch put it: "Will you please, please, please just Fuck Off". Adeybayor, you're taking the piss mate. just go and when you're being abused and scoring your 8 goals a season for Barca, you enjoy every penny. And if you do stay, don't expect the same love and affection you enjoyed previous to that, ok? oh, and take that other greedy git Hleb with you has well.

Where he has been badly advised is that if his desire to move fails to result in a transfer, he will have a lot of hearts and minds activity to do.gus ceasar is a legend wrote:Two hopes of winning us over Quartz I believe as despite his goals he was never that popular in the first place!QuartzGooner wrote:Adebayor might play for us next season, Vieira supposedly said far worse for a few summers in a row and remained a hero for many!

He could and should have done this all behind closed doors.
The fella has a high opinion of his worth.
I have to laugh when he says money is not important, this must be one of the money motivated moves i can recall.
I notice the Togo manager was having a go at EA the other day, about the example he sets the other Togo players.
I have zero interest in seeing him wear an Arsenal shirt again.

Top players are worth top money and if Ade thinks he is a top player then he is entitled to ask for top money. They all are entitled to get what they think they deserve, just as the Clubs are entitled to laugh at them.
But he isn't a top player, at least certainly not yet. And decent player though he is he's not worth anywhere near the pay rise he's asking for. Arsenal know that neither Barca nor Milan were going to pay a £30m plus fee for him. So his agent has been made to look a prat. Arsene didn't want to sell but had either Club coughed up a silly price I reckon we would have laughed all the way to the bank.
I reckon if he stays and gives it 100% next season not too many fans will mind and it will all be forgotten. But if he comes over all Billy-big-boots he'll get the finger from a lot of fans unless he performs brilliantly.
What I want to know is this: is his lippy agent now the same one who negotiated his contract in the first place? And if he is what kind of arse does he feel about not putting a renegotiation clause in the original contract relating to a goal-scoring feats per season?
I reckon Arsene is on a winner whether we sell or keep him.

great article and the previous author has a great idea if Ade does stay and wants a better contract...make it linked to goals returned!!
The evening standard tonight have an article saying Ade's agent is now saying Arsenal need to prove they 'love' him if we want to keep him!!?
I cant beleive a comple shitbag is getting clean away with likening himself to Henry, 'expecting' £120k/wk and being courted by Milan and Barca but being OUTPRICED of the market at £30+m!!
No previous transfer saga has annoyed me as much as this because the worst/probable/obvious scenario is that we are going to keep him and blow the chance of getting £30m. No doubt he'll score 12ish goals next season, all against Stoke and Hull, and the penny will drop with the rest of football that he is a shithead and worth between £12-15m tops!
I have never hated an arsenal player more, than Adebeyor

I don't know if Ade's agent, Stephane Courbis, negotiated Ade's current deal but for your info Courbis represented or represents Robert Pires.Sammy Mooner wrote:What I want to know is this: is his lippy agent now the same one who negotiated his contract in the first place?

And I agree, keeping or selling Ade both have big upsides for us now, even if we all find Ade's position laughable and insulting.
Really? What about Eboue??Flaminal Planet wrote:I have never hated an arsenal player more, than Adebeyor
And I know this isn't a very original question, but do you have plans to change the Flaminal Planet name?
many people might not realise the original song wasrolypoly wrote:well done the doktor.

Good article. As another Gooner who was never quite convinced - 6 of his 30 goals were against Derby, so maybe make that total 26 more realistically - I'd like to see the back of him. Only worry is that if his prospective suitors read the online Gooner they might discover the truth!
'Adebayor, Adebayor-or-or, get on yer bike - now show him the door!'
