I agree on Callum Chambers he was a good back up and better than Soares. Chambers himself probably did not want to be a backup anymore and asked to leave when Villa came in. The biggest issue is not that Chambers is leaving now but yet again we let a player run down his contract and go for free. Homegrown, ex Fulham player of the season and Versatile, we should have got some money for him in the summer.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:37 amBellerin still has 18 months to run on his Arsenal contract I think(?). he plays regularly for Real Betis, so I am just hoping they take him permanently, I don't know how much of his £90k a week wages they pay? But surely we need to off-load him for some cash before he can wander off on a free?
As for Callum Chambers he may not have been the best defender, but Always tried and gave his best, I wish him Good Luck - except of course when we play them.
I don't think the Vlahovic deal was ever going to happen - even if we met the asking price etc The fact we are not in Europe at all not in the Top 4 always made it seem like a deal out of reach for me. Also he made it clear he wanted to go to Juve and so fine fuck him.

Couldn't agree moreSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:08 amIf people are celebrating selling Calum Chambers then fuck me we're in even more trouble than I thought
I'll rephrase the question - are people happy that Cedric and Hector fucking Bellerin are still employed by this club when we've sold Calum Chambers?
The fella showed at Anfield he's infinitely better than either of those two absolute c.unts but of course one is Kia's mate and the other is going to be the latest Guendouzi/Torreira who we end up loaning out to do some other c.unt a favour
Tommy is coming back from COVID/injury - he was fucking woeful against the Mickeys and we'll forgive him that because he's been awesome up to then. But it's his first season in the PL and might need some resting/nursing back from recovery.........and I'd rather Calum Chambers plays there
This club sometimes............fuck the fucking lot of them

After this break we will have all of the midfield players back that got us to 4th place so i don't think it is a huge issue plus most of the players should be refreshed.wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:54 pmand the squad gets thinner. Although not opposed to selling Chambers at all, clear limitations in his game. But still no incomings in midfield.
I cant help but feel we chased Vlahovic for too long when it became obvious he was stalling. The Melo dead appears to be dead in the water.
If we dont sign a capable midfielder it will cost us.
To risk top 4 like this is gross negligence.
The big issue is upfront big time . That forward was never coming , i red loads of times early on them saying he wasn't interested. He wasn't.
So we will end up offering Laca 3 years at 300k a week out of desperation.

Years later we still laugh about Joe Cole and Higuain, and this Vlahovic c.unt or whatever his name is will live long in the memory tooshu wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 11:30 amAfter this break we will have all of the midfield players back that got us to 4th place so i don't think it is a huge issue plus most of the players should be refreshed.wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:54 pmand the squad gets thinner. Imagine spending the whole window chasing a player who has about as much desire to join as Messi does.

Although they have said he (Chambers) went for an un-disclosed fee, it is said to be between 2 and a half and 3 and half million; which admittedly is nothing in todays transfer market, but better than nothing I guess?

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
This all so Wiggy's Arsenal, two steps forward then one massive step back.
We actually seem to have made some decent purchases in the summer and we have offloaded a few of the left over dross, so as I said two steps forward.
Then we come to the huge backward step, and I say 'one' because it is all linked, we are left with at least one completely useless twat, we have still got significant numbers of shit on the books but who are only out on loan and finally we still haven't strengthened in the obvious areas of need......
Out of those who have gone since the summer how many have we actually fully gotten rid of 4 or 5 at most the rest are still cluttering up the books

Ahhh poor diddums - "the Arsenal environment". No doubt that's a thinly veiled attack at us lot that don't appreciate his amazing ability to fuck everything up in an instant. Him and Maureen together - I couldn't think of a more fitting partnership than two uber *word censored* of the highest ordergooner265 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 1:31 pm|| Xhaka has been proposed to Roma for January as he is “currently at odds with the Arsenal environment”. Newcastle are closing in on the signing of striker Eddie Nketiah. Talks with Arsenal have been progressing well & it is hoped Nketiah will travel to the North East over the weekend to complete his move. [Telegraph] #afc https://t.co/gsvP1vEOFf
