As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
In a few weeks time there will be boos ringing round the Emirates when the next fuck up comes and Kroenke will be laughing at the 60 K who helped enhance his bank balance. The only way change will ever happen is if the stadium becomes a ghost town but until then those going are contributing to this shit.
Fuck off. And change the record.
That's a bit unnecessary mate. It's an opinion. One probably shared by a few old school Gooners at this stage. Anyway, let's all keep calm and not get into petty spats. Cheers.
Whilst I agree with the sentiment, no place for insults, what exactly is and how old do you have to be to be an "old school gooner"?
Is 35+ years as a season ticket holder starting on the North Bank and Clockend terrace enough to qualify?
This blaming the season ticket holder for all that is wrong at Arsenal was done to death during the Wenger era or so I thought...
No idea mate. Maybe it's not the right words for it. But I don't like to call all modern fans "tourists" and I think there is a perception (rightly or wrongly) that these type of "less-obsessed" fans will turn up at the Conglomerates no matter what shite is served up because they are not really football fans and are there for the day out. Similarly what do we call the more militant obsessed fans that will stay away in protest?
Either way, there is a belief out there that the only way to improve things is to hit Wiggy in the pocket and force him to sell. Personally I think that's a tad deluded. The cùnt has money to burn and can afford to absorb any level of hit a few thousand fans staying away would inflict.
I think people confuse this with forcing Wenger out. Many things forced Wenger out. The media ridicule towards the end, his age, the continued drop off in the PL and CL results and places, but ultimately it was the empty seats that forced Wenger out. But it wasn't the financial loss. I believe it was the dent it put in the brand.
Arteta everytime he makes some big calls it backfires and spectacularly so. Auba on the wane but he was played out of position when he was still a threat a season back out left and that certainly didn't help.
Pretty much nailed on every team gets injuries so factoring in 3/4 are out anytime bare bones which is what our squad is becomes a skeleton.
Maybe we have some more good young players coming through, maybe not either way the strength of bench v Burnley will be something we will see again this season .
Lacca 3 PL goals one pen, Nketiah 0 and his presence upfront is as sturdy as a empty crisp packet in the wind it doesn't look promising. One goal in January as a team
Getting rid of deadwood which is the right call one thing but with no one coming in the two who cover different positions AMN and Chambers being let go awful calls next year be Cedric payed off next awful player. AMN motm v Watford then never seen again.

Wiggy wants the Norwich model.
Up and down, up and down with lovely parachute payments in the bank

I think the owners will be happy with a team thats in it's current state in and around the European places 4th if other teams are worse than us rather than us being any real threat top end but more likely 6th, 7th, 8th down to 10th.
Yesterday simply wouldn't of registered with them the Rams made the super bowl. Arsenal was an investment thats gone up in value since they have bought the club the *word censored* that sold their shares to them have sent us back 20 years but when did they care all about £ now $.They will not sell us they have never sold any sports team and multi billionaires are not going to buy us now even if they were open to sell at peak value anyone thinking otherwise deluded.
'Thank you for taking an interest in our business'.
On the positive side, we've off loaded a lot of dross, a distraction, trouble maker so good riddance.
We could argue we haven't signed any makeshift replacements and that it leaves the stage set for sweeping changes in the summer.
Whether or not that will happen and at what cost to the remainder of this season, remains to be seen.
This is my take , all the playes gone we wanted shot off except Chambers for me as back up , bit understand as he was out of contract
I didn't want any makeshift players bought and rather get our primary or secondary targets in the summer. Also none of our rivals have strengthened either , Juventus fans are delighted with the two Spurs took off them and missed their main targets. West Ham and Utd never strengthened either , I'm just wondering if this is Gabis time to come good up front.

With the exception of the shammers all our so called rivals have a deeper squad than we do - you do not succeed with 11 players only, and even if it was possible to succeed with just the first 11's, I'm not sure our first 11 is now better than these other clubs

It's a bit more than 11 , esr for a start, we have only two games in Feb so the squad should be refreshed and injury free with virtually 6 weeks off , we should have enough against some poorer sides with the fringe players if the spine is still there.
We shall see , we all hated the fabled trolley dash buying sub standard players , we have cleared the decks ready for a decent summer, if we manage 5th my prediction at the start I'll take that as we will invest in the summer , I also believe Xhaka will finally go, time for the kids to shine , lay down the challenge. Also Eddie and Laca are playing for the futures so would like to think they may step up and put themselves in the shop window to get the best deal/ club they can .

For starters if we had any other manager then we would have smith-rowe in the first anyway
Secondly we all hated the fabled trolley dash when we needed back up to an overplayed quality first 11, but ended up getting average shite like santos (I'm being generous there too). These days, as steve o pointed out, we have one inconsistent centre midfielder playing alongside a dogshite useless c.unt, and with the exception of burnley, norwich and watford (all 3 soon to be relegated imo) we have the the poorest number 9 options in the league. We badly needed to upgrade those two positions in our first 11, but not alone did we not do that, but we actually got rid of the other options for those positions. Utter fcuking madness
Lastly your clearing the decks plan ...... really ?? Auba gone, laca and nketieh going in the summer, and you think this syrup wearing *word censored* will pony up for 3 strikers to replace them ?? That is not forgetting that we will need to bring in players for other positions, and the money will we will bring in for selling the likes of mari wont amount to much, so you are seriously deluded if you think we are gonna do a big splash in the summer

Not having a go but when i hear ....no games so should be refeshed, seem to remember previously they come out slow and uninterested

It would be two strikers plus balogun , I do believe well splash big on a striker in the summer , we were clearly prepared to do that with vlahovic , it would have been madness paying 75 million for an unproven Issak , if we can get him for a realistic fee in the summer plus a decent back up job ,done.
Then shift xhaka , replace him and cedric we won't be far away from a proper side. I think that's doable, personally I'd shift pepe as well.
