Anti-Arsenal media
Anti-Arsenal media
In recent weeks the media, social media seems to have erupted with an Anti-Arsenal narrative. The covid postponement, Aubameyang saga, more red cards than goals, Saka going to Liverpool, and the criticism of the celebration after a hard earned win after the most controversial red card in years, all this negativity towards Arsenal. Is this because we are actually threatening to get back in the top 4? Is it cos we are showing signs of resilience and stubborn play?
The Arsenal are becoming a threat again to the media sweethearts and frankly they don't like it.
Question I've got is media reaction to the team, or reaction to a contingent of flip flopping Arsenal supporter?

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
What happened the other night didn’t follow the script so they’re all pissed off now coz we won. Fuck em.
It was meant to be Arsenal going one up then having a player sent off for something never seen in this league before and I can absolutely guarantee you that it will never be witnessed ever again and then Wolves come back to win 2-1 resulting in hilarity, bantz and LOLZ all round.
You gotta hand it to the Arsenal online brigade by the way, look at this that they’ve dug up -

The referee? Michael Oliver. The punishment? A yellow card.
The defence rests M’lud.

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
There it is for all to see!
What really pisses me off is that Mike Reilly & Co are not required to account for their actions and decisions... Neither the Referee's nor the idiots who oversee and operate VAR.
We all know that Really has been "suspect" regarding his honesty / dishonesty and Incompetence for years, and yet he is put in charge of Coaching The Officials and of who refs which game and who is in charge of VAR for that game.
It stinks to High Heaven, there needs to be one of those Petitions raised; not just by Arsenal Fans but by Football Fans in general.
It should be Required that just as both Managers and usually a selected player from each team are required to be interviewed post-match.
Then why the hell not the officials The Ref also the Fourth Official and / or a Lino. AND the person who was in charge of VAR at Stockley Park.
TIME FOR ACTION!!!!

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
Only 7 out of 22 PL referees have been in charge of Arsenal games this season.
Michael Oliver has been in charge of 5, with another 3 on VAR. (40% of our games).
The 5 red cards we've had have come from 3 referees.
11 games between the 3 with 5 red cards.
That's without mentioning some bad decisions that went against us, like the non-penalty against Man City.
I'm not making any statement, just posting some facts.

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
Been going on for decades.
I blame the club for refusing to fight back against this constant injustice, corruption & cheating by the authorities
Arsenal should be taking action by commissioning an independent inquiry into the corruption against the club.
I am sick of the gutless way we continue to take this crap without any reaction against the authorities involved.
The www.untold-arsenal.com website has been investigating this issue for years, I used to think they were just paranoid AKB's but now believe that they are 100% right on exposing the corruption against our club.

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
I think you 'll probably find that membership of the FA and PL precludes taking certain actions or commissioning independent investigations. Wiggy and co arent going to take the chance on losing money, fines or expulsion for a simple matter of dodgy referees. Clubs have been getting relegated for years due to dodgy officiating throughout the season, ask yourself why none of them have spoken out.
The only way to really tackle this would be for all the supporters organisations to commission an investigation on the grounds of fans being defrauded of their ticket money through deliberate acts on the parts of the officials, good luck with that happening when the biggest supporters groups belong to the teams who benefit the most
I will be honest I would love to see a civil case brought against the PGMOL, FA, PL and TV Companies for fraudulent representation of a product but evidence is circumstantial at best.

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
I really am beginning to think that the officials (on field and at the VAR) are either determined or incentivised to dismiss Arsenal players. Tomi had studmarks on his face after being stamped on; nothing done. Palace player tried to kick Saka over the stand causing injury that meant him leaving the game; nothing done. PEA breaks clear and has an obvious goalscoring opp at Leicester but is rugby tackled to the ground; nothing done. Arsenal player looks at the ref in a funny way; immediate red! Then there's the outcry when Arsenal ask for a game to be called off when others did the same without criticism.
Re: Anti-Arsenal media
The authorities and media don't even have to divde to conquer because it's already done . Everyone tut tutts about the refereeing until it goes their way and then there is aneerie silence.
Whilst fans are partizan , Riley and his tribe will get away with their biased antics and the media won't call them out because it's the package with the greatest cash flow.

Re: Anti-Arsenal media
It is a great point. Certain Referees do come into games with a mindset that they need to pay more attention to Arsenal than they do other clubs. Teams know they can get away with kicking us off the park and provoking a reaction. The stamp on Tomi's face at Everton still sticks in my mind as one of the most blatant red cards I have ever seen yet went unpunished and it confirmed a message to other clubs that they can get away with anything against Arsenal. Even with the very poor standard of Refereeing in this country, there is no excuse for some of the Bizarre VAR decisions that have gone on other than blatant favoritism or possible Corruption involving Betting Markets. A lot of money is made on draws.Clummo99 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 1:37 pmOnly 7 out of 22 PL referees have been in charge of Arsenal games this season.

The Media know they will get a reaction from the huge online presence of Arsenal fans leading to more clicks on their articles and will continue to publish articles against us. The Spuds deserve far more negative press than we do, they win fuck all and have moronic fans who for years have been trying to drag football back to the eighties yet they along with Utd and the Dippers are the media darlings.
Re: Anti-Arsenal media
What is the media obsession with red cards given to Arsenal players. They were doing it under wenger. The total was 118 with Vieira leading the way with 10 of them. Funny how no one knows how red cards have been received at city since guardiola arrived, or klopp at liverpool.
