Tierney's only featured in 56% of the league games for us since he joined, even your mate Abou must have managed more than that FFS
Just to have one more day of the great Abou......I might even cheer up a bit ! :D

Missed as much as the frothy bath tubs of Pireus.......

.@JacobsBen on Gabriel Jesus: “I think Manchester City have by all accounts softened a little bit on the lowest valuation that they’re prepared to sell for. The fee was £55m, in Manchester City’s head, Arsenal definitely thought that was £10m too high.” [@TFTerrace] #afc https://t.co/D8qNuf5SO0

.@JacobsBen: “For whatever reason, Arsenal felt £55m was too high. The situation now is that Manchester City will accept an offer & are quite prepared to let Jesus leave. The value of the deal has dropped by around £10m-£12m, which is well within Arsenal’s ballpark.” #afc https://t.co/UE2zIwMC9y

.@JacobsBen: “City will let Jesus go for somewhere in the low £40m’s, then it should be within Arsenal’s financial plan & they’ll see that as value. As yet, they’ve not tabled an offer, they’ve made enquiries, spoken about terms. They believe they can get a deal over the line.” https://t.co/wNomdB5j2R

It’s still a lot for a guy with 1 year left on his contract….we let Fabregas / Van Persie and others go for a snip rather than lose them for nothing.

This is true as they can negotiate transfers. we seem to still lack that ability.

Jesus, Tielimans, Bissouma, Hickey. Plus Saliba back from loan which as Wenger used to say , 'is like a new singing'. They can all be got for 100m. Net that against the Bellerin, Pepe, Torriera. I wouldn't might speculating on a wide player as a Pepe replacement, but we dont need to go hard given we have Saka, Martinelli, ESR. Whether Marquinhos will feature, who knows.

Lacazette has gone. But no more exists, no player sales, not even Xhaka. Perhaps loan out ASL or Tavares, but we are going to need numbers next season to play the extra games and keep the squad fresh. Even our top players should be playing only 3 out of 4 games. I would even bring back AMN form loan given his versatility.

Dont forget the 5 subs rule. More rotation and substitutions so make the most of a big squad.

I'd be happy to take Tielemans and Bissouma from that list and of course welcome back Saliba. If Carpet Head had the resolve to bring back Guendouzi into that group too, then with Tielemans, Bissouma, Partey, Elneny and Guendouzi there would be the type of options we need for a 50+ game season, and bomb out the club footed Swiss c.unt too.

I'm not convinced in the slightest by Gabriel Jesus, let alone his ability to be our main striker for 40-50 games - weak as piss in my opinion and his motivations dropping down from Pep's glory boys is questionable. I'll ask the question when has it ever ended well when someone takes a backward step from one of the title winning/CL challenging teams? I'd rather take a chance on Calvert Lewin, Toney or someone similar from the continent with more physical strength and who would actually relish the chance to step up rather than go backwards in their career

Hickey I haven't seen much of, but he looks another teenage, 9 stone wringing wet lightweight without the leadership experience we desperately need in the squad. We've suffered enough of that type with the likes of Tavares.

Get a proper centre forward who can hold the ball up and bring in all the exciting attacking and wide midfield players - Jesus can't do that. As for full backs we should have signed Trippier - I don't care about his ex association with the vermin or the wages - we need experience and versatility, and he has both. Too late now but someone around the 30 mark capable of playing left and right full back would be nice.

I had some really interesting discussions about the transfer market last night when I went to my local for the Monthly Football Quiz Night; the first one since before the Pandemic.

Everyone throws £5 into the kitty and all the proceeds go to local based charities.

The teams of 5 are chosen at random ; everyone puts their name into a bag and then the teams are chosen by chance.

Last night I was teamed up with 2 manure fans, a man city fan and a toon fan, so the banter just in the teams is part of the fun, then when the banter between the teams starts it can be 'interesting', but always entertaining.

Besides the banter though, there is always some 'realistic' talk as well.

In the intervals our team were discussing Transfers and everyone was saying that Saliba was "Quality" and if / when he rejoins Arsenal will be a huge boost to our defence.

Also that we should avoid Richarlson like the plague and like me felt Jesus is too lightweight to be the main striker, the Toon fan was telling me about a young Italian striker called Scammaca, whom he really rates.

For mid-field I suggested Tielemans and Bissouma, also Hickey as a back-line defender as he can play both LB and RB and cover for the injury prone Tierney & Tomiyasu.

The Toon fan was saying they have about £400 - £450 million to spend, which dwarfs our £ 150 million (I honestly don't think we will get anywhere near that) and that the Toon are preparing a bid for Gnabry.

The Man City fan watches a lot of Italian & German football and reckons Harland will be immense, but also said Scammaca is a real name to watch for the future.

Anyway, we raised just over £180 and everyone had a good time. we only came 3rd

I dunno mate, as I say I don't follow football outside the UK unless we are involved, which at the moment is never.

I watched a YT thing and he looks 'quality'; mind you so did Pepe on YT before he came to us ...... so . :?

Good riddance to Lacca, never rated him, Giroud was a better striker!
And I was no fan of him either.
