ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Arsenal are in advanced talks with Youri Tielemans & his representatives & are hopeful to be able to seal a deal in the next 48 hours. Leicester looked reluctant to accept a £25m fee but it looks as though it will go through, with no other bids on the table. [@TheCunningFox] #afc https://t.co/eH6HyIq3oP

Official: FC Porto have confirmed, in a statement, the sale of midfielder Fabio Vieira to Arsenal, ‘for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on the achievement of sports objectives’.
#afc
Fabio Vieira is at London Colney and will complete all his medical checks over the next couple of days.
It might take a few days before official confirmation comes from Arsenal, but the midfielder will sign a five-year-deal.

I refuse to call him "Vieira". It's going to be "Fabio", as gay as that sounds.....

Hilarious groundhog day on here....
The optimists telling anyone that questions a signing to "be positive" and "give player X a chance". Just like last summer.
And then next May we finish 5th to 8th after those players have the impact of a wet fart in a tornado.
Lads, you be as positive as you want. That's great. But that does not make average and poor players into great players. That's not overt negativity. That's being realistic based on experience. Hope is grand, but it is not experience-based is it.
I'll take 20 quid of anyone's money right now that this manager with these signings will not win a cup or finish top 4 next season. And yes I know the transfer window is still open, but who do you expect the novice Martinez-Lite to sign that will turn us into a top 4 team or a team that wins a cup? He has a record of not addressing our needs in the transfer windows. He spends a fortune yet still we come up short every season in key positions.

Speaking of Groundhog Day, spending loads but coming up short in key positions? Could easily be talking about Wenger or Emery! - maybe it’s not a novice thing, maybe it’s an Arsenal thing?!DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:00 amHilarious groundhog day on here....![]()

Arsenal update. Eddie Nketiah has just signed new contract until June 2027, deal completed and sealed today after verbal agreement days ago. Official statement soon.

Nketiah turned down multiple bids from Bundesliga and Premier League clubs to stay at Arsenal.

Obviously aimed at me , I'm a glass haf full man or try to be , had too much negativity in my life recently I need something to feel good about.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:00 amHilarious groundhog day on here....![]()

I will keep on looking for positives and refuse to be beaten down. Yes I am realistic but he damed if he does , damned if he doesn't. We moan when nothing happens until the end of the window , if we get all these deals done early thats a welcome change .
Also you may be overlooking all these midfielders may be the end of Xhaka

The one player I was really looking forward to leaving was Nketiah. By some miracle he scored 5 goals at the arse end of last seasons andhe’s getting a bumper new deal and Henry’s number.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
And that is why we won't do anything next season. Nketiah is a waste of money. He is on par with players such as Welbeck, will have a good career for a lesser club, but is nowhere near good enough for teams supposedly looking for champs league.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:38 amArsenal update. || Napoli have reportedly set an £86m fee for Victor Osimhen and Arsenal are more than willing to pay it, already setting up a proposal [Via - @Gazzetta_IT: Print Edition].
|| We can confirm the earlier @TimesSport article that Gabriel Jesus is very close to joining Arsenal. The total offer to City is €58m (£49.5m) [Via - @GEGlobo].
Signing this fella is depressing me - we are never gonna be where we want/need to be as long as this fella and nketieh are our striker optionsFor second summer in a row it seems that we are giving this clown big money to spend, and the net result will be that we will fall further behind our rivals and a thin transfer budget for the next manager to come in to try and fix this c.unts mess
I’m ok with Jesus at this point as I’m not seeing links to anyone better (?), but then again, I would have been ok with Vlahovic and Abraham too yet they weren’t popular on here either.
Realistically ? Ok if I was in charge I would put the £50m it would cost to buy jesus, and add it to the £35m it is costing to sign vieira from porto, and I would buy one of the following -
1. Calvert Lewin (conditional on proper medical green light)
2. Dembele from Lyon (again depending on medical)
3. Rashford
4. Toney
5. Mane
6. Raul Jiminez wolves
7. Richarlson
8. Griezeman
9. Martinez (Inter)
10. Jovic (real madrid) on loan
They are just 10 players off the top of my head that I would sign before splashing £50m on jesus - no doubt there are others too, but I havent time to go searching
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I would also be on board with offering either suarez (ath madrid) or cavini a one year deal to have as a back up ahead of nketieh
