Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Hector Bellerin is set to give up his whole wage in order to terminate his contract.
Arsenal have realised he only wants to go to Real Betis and have rejected six other offers so far this summer.
Meeting scheduled this week between Arsenal & Bellerin.

Arsenal are working on the outgoings and still waiting for Lucas Torreira to decide on Galatasaray proposal, as they are ready to accept. Leno will become Fulham player soon.

Pablo Marí will be the next player to leave the club: Monza and Verona, both interested.

Our outgoings remind me of doing the harvest festival at primary school. We would collect up loads of out of date tins of crap and then give it to the elderly in the surrounding area.
For a Fray Bentos meat pie from 2019 see Torreira, 2015 minestrone see Bellerin, rice pudding from 2014 Pablo Mari and a 2009 tin of sardines see Pepe.
Flush. Flush away…

Give up his whole wage? …. What does that even mean?mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:38 amHector Bellerin is set to give up his whole wage in order to terminate his contract.

Surely that suggests he just wants to cancel his contract so Arsenal get nothing? He then joins Betis on a free and gets a decent wage anyway + signing on bonus

I find the whole Torreira thing very odd. He looked very good when he first arrived and I can't remember any of us on here (and fuck knows, we're a hard bunch to please) being critical of him. Quite the opposite, he was quickly a fan favourite. Then seemingly out of nowhere, it went wrong. Don't know whether Arteta didn't rate, or get on with him, or if, as has been suggested, he and his family couldn't settle in London. If that's true, not sure why he'd expect to settle more easily in Istanbul?
I imagined that he'd be transferred to a club in Italy or Spain and hard to believe there are no takers, but the whole story gets ever more strange. It's a shame, because I thought we'd found an ideal centre mid. Still, never mind, we've still got Xhaka.........

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
You're absolutely right about us being positive about him on here. He had a couple of poor games towards the end of his spell with us but after he ran the scum into the ground and scored that goal against them when he thrashed them at home in his first season, his stock was sky high. It could be that he and his family just didn't like life in London and that's understandable but I've started to wonder if there's something not quite right about his agent or something or about who controls his contract or something. I just get the sense that there's something other than football going on with him.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 4:58 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 12:52 pmExcl: Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira flying to Istanbul to undergo medical with Galatasaray ahead of permanent transfer. Nothing says “help the aged” more than giving out of date food - no wonder peoples life expectancy was a lot lower back then.BobbyPires7 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:42 amOur outgoings remind me of doing the harvest festival at primary school.
