Other Matches Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Forest 1- Dippers 0. :barscarf:
They'll probably want the game replayed or something because it reminded them of Hillsborough or something.
Reminded me of watching them play each other in the Arsenal Tavern, prior to our match v United in 1991.

They beat them to crown us champions :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: amd I have never witnessed a pub carpet so wet and sticky….

To top it off we walloped United 3-1 and they had to provide us with a guard of honour onto the pitch. 8)
I was there two but felt like a anti climax after 89
Mate, everything is an anti climax after 1989.

Goal and an assist and Man of the Match today for young Charlie Patino - who seems to have really found his feet in the championship with Blackpool.

Next season may be too early for him to make the first team squad, but he has a great reading of the game, plays simple, but effective football and despite being slim, battles hard for the ball.

His goal today for Blackpool

I am watching the T20 between India and Pakistan...

And like WOW!

The ferocity and skill of both the Bowlers and the Batsmen is Awesome!

The 2 best Cricket Teams in the world who due to politics and the threats of terrorisim haven't played in ages..

You are kind with your praise. I don't see either winning the world cup.

I'm not an avid Cricket mate... But was simply really enjoying the 'intensity' of this game... I know the Aussies & S. Africa & New Zealand all have very good teams... England to the best of my limited knowledge can be world beaters, but are something of a seasonal Hit or Miss team.

I watched the Chavs vs Mancs game last night and it was a snoozefest. They had spent half a billion on new players combined but the lack of quality was startling.

The game is all thr poorer for these two not playing more regularly. A solution needs to be found because it's a huge fixture in not only Cricket but sport in general.

From a purely rivalry stand point England vs Australia does not hold a candle to India vs Pakistan. While it may have mellowed down over the years, there used to be a time when players effigies were burnt and buses stoned when the team lost. Even today lots of TVs get broken after this fixture  .

Tut tut Bard. Didn't you know you're not allowed to refer to them as batsmen anymore? They have to be called Batters now. A name that the cricket traditionalists have always frowned upon.

And no I'm not kidding.
