Arsenal and Brighton are currently £6m apart in their valuation of Leandro Trossard as they looked to agree a fee, according to reports.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news earlier on Thursday that the Gunners and Seagulls were locked in advanced negotiations for the Belgium international.
He added that Arsenal had prepared an “official bid” after agreeing personal terms with Trossard some weeks ago, Trossard has been banned from first-team training in recent weeks when it was known he wanted to leave.
Trossard has six months left on his current deal at Brighton but the Seagulls have an option to extend his contract for a further year if they wish – but it now looks like the 28-year-old will leave in this transfer window.

Is any transfer for any team done privately? The players agents speak to the press to try get as much for their clients. Just the way it works, no point getting annoyed.

Regarding fee: understand Arsenal want to pay around £20m. Brighton value Trossard closer to £26m. Difference in valuation - but an agreement not impossible from those starting points. Via @SamiMokbel81_DM

There are plenty of deals that you only hear about for a few days until the signing is confirmed. No other club turns every transfer into a huge ordeal. What's the bets we are here next week still haggling over a few million.

Dare I say that an agreement from that starting point might well be found at a payment of £23m?IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:48 pmHere we gomcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:24 pmRegarding fee: understand Arsenal want to pay around £20m. Apparently spurs made a bid of 12m and it was laughed off by Brighton

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I’m terms of what we need, Trossard fits the bill. We don’t need players to come in and replace our starting XI, we need squad depth. We need a good bench. We need players that can drop in a cover an injury or suspension and do a good job.
A player like Trossard (PL proven, experienced and tricky) COULD win us the league, or EL, or FA Cup, whereas a player like Mudryk could very well be out of his depth for a year or two at least.
I would be happier with Trossard if he wasn’t the only one. Let’s hope.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Leandro Trossard has accepted all the conditions offered by Arsenal on his contract — all other teams interested have been informed of his decision.

#AFC
Personal terms are 100% agreed. The clubs are expected to complete the agreement very, very soon as revealed today

January 19th and still no transfers.
Have to admit that the Trossard story looks good.
maybe later today or tomorrow.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Trossard is a very sensible and decent signing. He's not going to be a WOW player, but he'll do a decent job, gives us options and is more than capable of assisting/scoring goals. Over the last couple of seasons he has scored against us, Spuds, Bindippers and Man City so he is a man for the big occasion!
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Don't rule out Spuds coming in with a 30m bid last minute. Levy will be desperate to get one over on us after smashing them again at the weekend!!
