As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Trossard and Tomi should have started as a minimum. Continuing to play players badly out of form is right out of Wengers book. Personally I would also play Tierney at LB and push Zinny into MF to replace Xhaka who's right back to his absolute shit self.
Arteta won't do much though, he'll just play Trossard against City
Exc: VAR Lee Mason forgot to draw offside lines on Ivan Toney's equaliser in a mistake that could have a huge impact on Arsenal's title hopes.
Christian Norgaard was offside. Had the lines been drawn, the goal would have been disallowed.
This is beyond corrupt.
We all said it straight away. Why weren't the lines drawn? Should be fucking sacked immediately. We should have a public apology. This is so further proof that VAR is open to a abuse, that there is absolutely no system of checks in place to ensure it is fair and conducted thoroughly and honestly and most of it, clear evidence that the conversations between the ref and VAR operator need to be broadcast. To compare it to cricket, it's like the third umpire 'forgetting' to use hawkeye to see whether the ball will hit the stumps when looking at an LBW review. This is absolutely disgusting and the bloke should never work in the game again.
I’ve always maintained that the made up foul by Calum Chambers to rule out a late winner at home to Palace was the biggest act of cheating we’ve seen since the introduction of VAR (and the list is long!) but surely this now surpasses it.
Forgetting to check for offside in an offside check? Lee Mason the same VAR who chalked off Martinelli’s goal at united, a decision they later admitted was another “mistake”.
We didn’t deserve the 3 points yesterday but there are plenty examples of ugly 1 nil home wins by clubs across title winning seasons that massively helps them get over the line.
Imagine what they’ll do to us if we’re still somehow in contention with 5 games to go
Awful. As much as I hate to say it Man Utd - who as far as I’m aware have mysteriously avoided all of these VAR fuckups, and rather tend to benefit from them - are damn good value at 20/1. Not good enough on an even playing field but when Arsenal are getting done by these crucial calls and a time when you’d imagine another Man City title win would go down at PL headquarters right now like a raw slug.
Brentford played well and on another day their performance might have got them points. But not yesterday because they couldn’t score a legitimate goal, while we did!

And in about three months time we'll get the same half-arsed announcement from the Premier League that some VAR decisions were wrong made and then a list of them will be seen en masse. Nothing ever happens to the fucking cheats or imbeciles or cheating imbeciles that make the fucking corrupt decisions, absolutely fucking nothing and more and more supporters just lose more and more faith. The system has been open to abuse and corruption since it started. Nobody seems to know the procedures and it all seems up to the one using it and of course, that's impacts as usual by human incompetence and cheating. This Lee Mason cûnt has had it in for us for years and needs to be sacked straight away. How can anyone be that fucking bad at a job and not do something so fucking central to the job? It's like a security guard forgetting to lock the bank safe and front doors. The first thing you would do is suspect corruption.
Broadcast the conversations and have an onscreen checklist that supporters can see is being worked through at each stage of a review. Like cricket and the DRS reviews. Have standrad protocol that needs to be followed. That way, it is fair and transparent. But then again, fair and transparent is what the FA and Premier League seem determined not to be.
City and Liverpool over the last 4 or 5 seasons have had plenty of games that weren't going their way until VAR intervened to give a dodgy penalty in their favour. In our case it never seems to be a benefit and is only their to screw us over. Can the cùnts in the media and the FA stop with the "human error" bullshit like we are all kids. Not to put on the tinfoil hat but the way I see yesterday is that Mason intentionally screwed us over and when the shit hit the fan, the lowlife scumbag thought of the weakest excuse he could think of. Bearing in mind it was also him that ruled out Martinelli's goal against United. There needs to be a statement calling out this blatant cheating but of course there won't be, we'll just continue to accept being screwed over.
Mark my words, one or more of Man Utd's next opponents will get absolutely screwed by the officiating - probably starting with Leeds today. The agenda of a "thrilling" two way (Man City/Man Utd) or three way (us and them two) title race is clear as day.
Believe me, there is no incompetence in VAR decisions, merely plain old fashioned cheating.
The system that was introduced to ensure that the correct decisions are made, has become the simplest 100% guaranteed tool, to ensure the desired result in tight games.
To expect us to believe he “forgot” is absolutely fucking ludicrous but there’s also an assistant VAR in the room with him so the bullshit they’re actually peddling here is that TWO people forgot, a claim so fucking absurd it’s contemptuous.
Lee Mason was at the centre of another fuck up aswell. It was Newcastle v Palace earlier in the season,I remember this cos it burst my acca that weekend The fat bastard was stepped down after that but here he is again at it yesterday (my acca was screwed yesterday aswell) the fat arsepiece that he is.

Lodge a legal claim for incompetence leading to loss of earnings against him and the Premier League. About time they had consequences for their fucking incompetence. Every time there's a fucking shit bad decision, which they admit was wrong, supporters should be able to claim refunds and any loss of earnings from both organisations in the same way as you can with airlines and rail companies.
