It doesn’t excuse the collapse but the reality is we lost any hope of the title when Jesus got injured. That team was functioning at absolute maximum efficiency and the slightest tweak meant that the wheels came full of. Even with that exact side undisturbed it’s unlikely we’d have won it, as there was simply insufficient back up in other positions.

The Jesus crap is becoming like the Ramsey folklore, the wheels never came off after the WC, in fact we were on fire. Jesus hadn't scored for 9 games before the WC even kicked off. He was going through a Giroud like period. The mistake was thinking Eddie could carry the attack, the mistake was not spending 100m on a proper striker in the window. Even if Jesus comes back next week, who's his back up?? Eddie, that's who :? :?
