As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
The point you Linekar lovers are missing though as well is that if it is in his contract and is the company policy that he not post political shit then if he has broken those agreements (that he is hugely financially compensated for) then fuck him that's his fault.
Hate the scum cùnt, loving seeing him getting fucked over.
He's not got a contract, he's a freelancer. So what code of conduct does he have to adhere to if he's not an employee?
Anything he says on Twitter is independent of the BBC.
Micah Richards wading in has the same kind of impact as turning up to a house fire with a water pistol and pointing the water pistol away from the fire.
Agreed. But Ian Wright is making a big statement here.
I am fed up with GB News claiming they represent the majority of people in this country and creating a witch hunt. Honestly, I couldn't have a conversation with someone who watches this channel without having a lot of contempt for them.
Nutty you seem obsessed with GB News mate. Where did I say I watch that right wing shit?

Fucking bang on, old chap. He's been happy to take the money from the BBC for years whislt gobbing off and waving his arms around to take the piss out of that former manager of ours. Absolutely fucking horrendous fucking cûnt regardless of his political persuasions.

How can he not have a contract mate? With the money they pay him?

The BBC have sanctioned other free lance workers, for example Jonathan Agnew from their cricket for Twitter comments but let jug-ears get away with whatever for years. They've probably just had enough of defending him.

He works for BT Sport and the BBC as a freelancer, they pay a fee to his company and he then declares his income through annual accounts.
So Perry fuels his confirmation bias by jumping on your abusive post, but won't answer the question about Gary Lineker's tax status. Because the reality is he hasn't got a clue.
The same people who voted for Brexit jumping on Gary Lineker both on this forum and across social media, whilst we are at it Brexit has gone well hasn't it lads?

I've answered your question about his tax status. I find it hypocritical that he is dragging out a case against HMRC when he can clearly afford to pay the money that is in dispute. If he wants better public sevices or better immigration rights, pay the fucking tax you are supposed to pay. Don't dispute it, pay it. I get fucking furious about the wealthy avoiding tax through their ability to pay more money to accountants to avoid what they could and should pay.
I've found Lineker to be a reprehensible human being for years. The stories I have heard about him and his hands and his creepy behaviour and then his absolutely sickening David Brent style desperation for attention and affection are abhorrent. I couldn't give a fuck what he thinks, I couldn't give a fuck what he tweets but I do give a fuck when he wants free speech and has gone through the courts to prevent stories about him being published. And when it comes to Brexit, how the fuck do you work out that I voted for it? I wasn't even allowed a vote. Not every opposing view makes someone Nigel fucking Farrange.

the BBC told Lineker to make political statements about the human rights record of Qatar at the start of the World Cup last November.
yet he can't send a mild tweet with a comment on UK politics ?
also what about all the other BBC presenters who have contracts? Like Lord Sugar who has tweeted criticism of Mick Lynch for example?
amongst the fury of the Lineker issue the BBC have also tonight decided not to show an upcoming wildlife programme by David Attenborough because of fears its themes of the destruction of nature would upset rightwingers.
but at the heart of all this is the creeping right wing authoritarianism in the UK and the fact that the chairman of the BBC is under investigation for giving the Tory party £400,000 in donations and organising an £800,000 loan for Boris Johnson - thats the real story here, the Lineker one is to distract the brainwashed masses.

You haven't answered anything. He hasn't done anything wrong, as a freelancer he has much more flexibility over how he draws an income from his own company. He's no different to any businessman that runs a Limited Company.
He will have been advised about the optimal way of drawing a salary by his tax advisers/accountants. That's not tax evasion. HMRC can investigate his tax affairs, that happens all the time with not only celebrities but people in business.
So why don't you jump on the BBC then for its Chairman making a donation in the hundreds of thousands to the Conservative Party. Or Fiona Bruce giving Stanley Johnson a pass for breaking his Mrs nose, saying it only happened once? Both much more controversial than anything Lineker has said ?

Jeepers mate you have your tampon in tonight huh?
Only fucking with you.
But I do not believe for a moment that there is not some kind of contract or MOU in place (no matter what way he is paid) that determines what is and isn't acceptable behaviour on his behalf. There is simply no way the BBC would allow him on TV without one.
Massive leap equating any of this utter nonsense involving a rich failed footballer come smug arsehole presenter with Brexit though!

As I say, if you've got millions, pay what you owe, don't fuck about trying to find ways out of paying. If I'd been caught out and paid back 5m pounds, I'd have been ashamed and shut up forever.
As for the other stuff, I honestly don't know about what you're referring to with regards to the BBC and money and politics, so I can't comment. What I will say however is that I remember people feeling the same way you feel but the other way round when Blair and Mandelson were manipulating them and pressurising them with the Iraq dossier or Prescott punching people or Ron Davis getting caught cottaging on Clapham Common after the Labour Party had paid for stories to out gay Conservative MPs and the 45 minute claim and the death of Dr. David Kelly. That upset me. That was horrendous. That select committee with the "You're just chaff" comment. We all have reasons for feeling the way we do or have experienced things in our professional backgrounds which have influenced how we feel about things. As I say, I don't know what goes on in Britain these days too much but if it comes to offering a counter or alternative view based on my thoughts and experiences and if asked to defend my views, I'm happy to. I live in another country, I didn't vote for Brexit. As I say, having another view and being uncomfortable with someone or something doesn't make you Nigel Farrage.

ok interesting to hear that you no longer live in the UK.
I won't make any criticisms of your views because I appreciate that you will be viewing things in a different context to those of us living in the Tory Britain of today which is completely different now to the Britain of the past. Back then if you held a view and someone else held a view then fair enough, you could agree to disagree, but today we are seeing censorship extend everywhere. The BBC is now a mouthpiece for the Conservative government, which is appalling. It appears nobody can say anything anymore. Sad times.

Not only is that NOT Harsh, it is also Very Funny.
Lineker banging on about human rights whilst pocketing millions from the Qataris, Chinese and Russians and cheating his taxes for years is probably the original version of Neville, in terms of hypocritical cûntishness. Then there's all the affairs and sexual misconduct that the jug-eared cúnt has paid the newspapers to cover-up for decades. Fuck him.
How did Lineker cheat his taxes? This rhetoric is all over Social Media, but when people are questioned about this they haven't got a fucking clue.
So I am all ears, if you will pardon the pun.
Ohhhh! That's it have a go at Dumbo, I mean what the fuck has he done!???
