If ESR isn't performing or isn't fit, that's on Arteta because it means he is ill disciplined. How many managers hang on to a guy who won't listen, won't eat right and won't give 100%?? If that's the case, let him go. It burns my ass to see him on the bench as Viera lurches off the bench like a new born giraffe. A few years back, I thought out of ESR, Martinelli and Saka, he had the most promise. Now he is a distant 3rd.

But, as Retro said, I don't think Arteta ever really fancied him.

From what Arteta said it sounds like it's a mental issue with ESR. He's not a 'presser' in the team like Odegaard is. Maybe he won't change his attitude, there's no doubting his technical ability.

Papers are full of Villa coming back in for him this summer which makes sense. If we sold bit part players Tierney and ESR for around 70m, it boosts the old coffers.

If Smith Rowe's attitude is wrong how is that on Arteta?

A couple of times he's come on and hasn't tried at all. I've noticed it so has Rodders.

It's not a case of "Arteta doesn't fancy him"

It’s pretty obvious to anyone willing to watch that his attitude is not right. He doesn’t press enough to play in our system. I heard it was a fitness issue. I don’t think he has his personal life sorted and liked takeaways a bit too much.

Whilst I'd agree ESR isn't a "presser", Vieira most certainly isn't, but it doesn't stop him appearing as a wasted substitute week after week. Can anyone remember him coming off the bench and doing anything vaguely productive?

As for Odegaard, he presses like mad in the first half or when the team is winning, but watch him in the second half or when we're on the back foot and he never does - in fact he goes completely AWOL

Please NO Viera anywhere the subs bench or stadium. If that comment offends anyone I'm sorry but please don't call me a 'C--t'.

You are 1000% Right RayC - Vieira is (for me) like a human(ish( version of a walking cocktail stick... I've seen more meat on a jockey's whip.

Besides which he just doesn't seem to have the same drive & determination as the other players. I mean Jorginho whilst he may be older and far more experienced (& talented) - He isn't physical big & robust but he gives 100% every moment he is on the pitch.

Minutes played by Vieira;
West Ham: 5
Liverpool: 0
Leeds: 4
Palace: 0
Fulham: 13
Bournemouth: 6

Give him a break. Not like he’s getting many minutes anyway.

Whatever non Rob Holidng option we're deciding to roll with up at city (we're surely not going to gamble with him up there are we  ) needs to be trialed tonight, whether that be someone else at RB and White pushing in or a change of formation. This is the biggest week for the club in a generation.

There's not much left of the season to really batter someone so maybe this is the game. C'mon Arsenal a 7-0 here would be good for morale.

I respectfully disagree that we should be trying something “innovative” for Wednesday or worry about goal difference at this stage. One game at a time.

If we go 2 up and they bring it back to 2-2 I'm going straight on the Domestos.
