With the forum being almost dead this morning I flicked around a few other websites and on one of them it said that the asking price for ade has now dropped to £16m ??? :? :? :?
Could this be true ? If it was any other club then you would probably rule it out but with our club you would never know  If we sell the togan *word censored* for any less than £25m then I want someone at the club head on a stick :x :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Is it a reputable website? What is their source? When have we badly undersold a player unless they were in the last year of their contract?

I have made my position very clear before in that I would sell ade for anything over £25m and be very very happy into the bargain. However there is no way in the world we should agree to sell this judas for anything less and I for one am totally fed up with our club bending over and taking it up the arse from one of europe's so called elite
I dont give a flying fcuk if ade wants out or who his preference to go to is cos as far as I'm concerned we should only sell if it suits us and at this price it clearly doesnt. Cancel the removal van ade

I agree with Augie - if they want Ade so much, they MUST pay the going rate.

when did our club bend over augie? When we sold a clapped out Henry and Overmars for big bucks? When we forced Real Madrid to pay over 20 million for Anelka?

Galliani stops Adebayor deal
Reports claim Ronaldinho on brink of move to Milan
Last updated: 12th July

Paper Talk
Adriano Galliani says Milan have put a move for Emmanuel Adebayor on hold amid reports the club are close to signing Ronaldinho.

Arsenal striker Adebayor has been a leading target for Milan, with Barcelona also having shown an interest in the Togo international.

Milan vice-president Galliani has consistently stated that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's demands for Adebayor are too expensive.

And Galliani has now suggested the Italian giants will end their interest in bringing Adebayor to the San Siro.

Important sacrifices
"We've stopped dealing with Wenger and have to reconfirm that up to now Milan has above all important sacrifices to make in negotiations with its current players, starting with Kaka," Galliani told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper also claims that Milan are on the brink of finalising a deal to sign Ronaldinho from Barcelona.

Reports suggest a fee has been agreed between the two clubs and that the Brazilian will sign a two-year contract with Milan.

Galliani has previously said that the club would sign either Ronaldinho or Adebayor, which could now lead to the latter staying at the Emirates Stadium.

Ronaldinho had also been wanted by Manchester City, but his preference has been to secure a move to Carlo Ancelotti's Milan side.

You can claim all you like that we sold a clapped out henry but this time last year that wasnt the feeling and I will always believe that it is only because he had the injury problems since that made his transfer fee acceptable and not the other way around
It is beyond dispute that we allowed madrid to bully us over anelka and ditto that re barca and overmars. The size of the fee is not the issue in their cases cos we allowed both the clubs and the players to bully us into selling them regardless of what our club wanted and all this was pre the days when wenger says the players gained all the powers.

To me common sense says that if you can sell an ade for a grossly inflated fee and buy a quality proven replacement (villa please  ) for the same money or less than you go for it and imo that is the case here. I do not believe we should let this ungrateful *word censored* bully his way out of our club on the cheap but this is a real possibility. I also warned that by holding out for over £30m (otherwise known as taking the piss  ) we stood a very good chance of pricing the judas out of what would have been excellent deal for our club and that is also a very real possibility :worried:

No doubt magic you are in a great position - if we sell him for the £25m+ then you will say it was great business but if we sell him for £18m you will say it is great money for a one season wonder - either way you cant lose but I'll still look at the money we passed up from what appears to be greed or stupidity   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yes, I suppose the medical staff wouldn't have known about Henry's injury problems or the evidence last season would have given them no hint. I suppose Henry wishing to leave England strengthened the board's hand and made it easy to sell off a clapped out want away.

We got bullied over Anelka? We sold off a bad influence and got enough money to build a new training ground that is still going while Anelka... oh yeah I can see how we got bullied making a £19 million profit that was put towards the long term future of the club. We sold off an injury hit Overmars and a declining Petit for, what 25 million? So four players who would never go on to be as successful, two of them want aways, three declining, two injury hit and we got bullied into "only" getting 71 million. What exactly were you expecting us to do? Those were fantastic deals at the time and backed up by what happened since, we got rid of players and got in a lot of money

what exactly do you want out of the four transfers? You can not keep players who don't want to stay and it is good business to sell past it players for as high a fee as possible. We did that and not I'm sure Real and Barca are so happy with what they got.

actually, if we sell him for 18 million, I will be furious. If he stays, I'll be delighted but anything of 25 million or above will be ok too

You're wrong on this one augie and Magic's right.

Henry was already diagnosed with sciatica a while before he left us - and he was out for half a season more or less. The condition only gets worse and I presume that counts double for athletes like Henry who rely on peak fitness.

The story is that the medical staff at Barcelona although clearing Henry did warn of his condition to the President and advised against even paying such a fee as £16m . The President just wanted Henry regardless.

What clouds things is that Henry was being bandied about for £30 million the season before - and then Bent went to spuds for £18m. But these must be taken in the context in which they happened and the motivation of the player to leave.

I have lost interest in the Togolese wanker and I do not want him back at the club end of story!

I have no interest in what we sell him for aslong as the money is invested back into a forward of as good or better quality!

If we sell him for a fiver and buy Villa for the same price then who cares!

Good riddance you money grabbing tosser!

What, you mean David Dein allowed us to get bullied by Madrid and Barca? And here was me thinking you were a fan of DD.

Would hope we will be shipping Ade out now, anything over £20m would be fine in my opinion. Bit harder to accept if it's south of that though. According to SSN the source of the suggestion that the price has dropped is neither one of Milan and Arsenal but Ade's agent - reliable source? I think not.
