bring him in *not an arshavin thread*

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why do you go out of the way to say "not an Arshavin thread" when it is?

would he be peoples first choice at 27 as a replacement for hleb? i feel for that money there are better options? i found it dissapointing when he went missing in the semis at euros after a brilliant start. what do others think, at £15-20m for him?

he did play very well for Zenit last year in their league and in the UEFA cup. The prices being mentioned are steep but his general game would fit into Arsenals. Can he cope with the Premier League?

He has got good ability but his agents seem to be keeping his recognition high in the press and cashing in on his recent performances.

And stearmaster - your fuckin crazy  :barscarf:

so you would be happy if wenger bout him for say £18-20m, rather than david silva from valencia for example? My opnion is i just feel there are better options for the money.

i do prefer a player to be mid 20's and when he is quality then i would like him at arsenal,, would love david villa but aint going to happen as valencia got new backers last week and they have said none of there star players are going to be sold

yer i do like arshavin as a player, but would prefer money spent elsewhere. With a possible £40m from the sales of hleb and ade maybe wenger has no choice but to splash the cash on the replacements. its just i dont know if i can see us selling £40m worth of tallent and wenger saying, we have a better chance than last year our squad has improved?

i think they are great promising talent added to our squad and good signings. but surely from last year we need more numbers as perhaps we lacked depth in our squad last year. with lehmann, flamoney gone, hleb, adebankdor, gilberto going. 3 coming in really we are still 2 short. most fans/pundits etc expected/thought 2-3 new signings at the end of the season before we had even lost anybody were needed to improve our squad?!
