ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I saw somewhere a suggestion he wanted to stay in London, if true it's between us and Chavski, I say drive up price to push them to the limit with FFP then find an alternative.

Chelsea are bust. Totally fucked.augie wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 1:15 pmBobbyPires7 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 8:41 amAny asset is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Rice is not signing a new contract. So he will be sold this summer. If we are the only willing bidder then I don’t see why the price will be over £100m.
City - don’t need him.
United - Casemiro plays there. And until they are sold they are not buying any major player.
Newcastle - don’t see it.
Liverpool - won’t pay that money and may not be Champions League.
Spurs - don’t make me laugh.
I reckon he is coming our way for £80m plus £20m of add ons that will never come to pass.
We wont be the only bidder, not by a long shot - the victims have to rebuild their entire midfield this summer, manure's midfield certainly needs additions, but there is no doubt that the chavs will be the main bidders for him this summer
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
The Chavs have to sell 5 or 6 players minimum before bringing anyone in and to be honest, why the fuck would you join the Chavs these days? They are a car crash and in reality, they will struggle next season too because they are 30 individuals, not a team. There are already rumblings reported by some of the guys who have signed 7/8 year contracts thinking they have fucked up badly. Apart from stupid wages, the Chavs offer very little.
Arsenal have to be the most attractive option going, maybe some will hanker after a move to Moan Ure or the Bindippers because of their history but for chances to win trophies short term and to be part of the best group of youngsters in the PL, Arsenal are the standout team. Even Man City may not be that appealing, yes you can get top top wages but there's every chance you go to City and play 15-20 games a season even if you are a top player already.

Apparently Mudryk is anything but Happy with his lot since arriving at the Chavs; arguments with the coaching staff and other players.

His alternative is to sit tight and walk for nothing in 2 years ( doesn’t do us any favour now mind )but £80m compared to nothing is a big drop….especially to a tin pot club like them.

No mate I looked on Twitter.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
My view with transfer fees over the years has changed considerably
I used to be offended - now to be honest, Rice is worth whatever we are prepared to pay. Who cares if its 80m, 100m etc - its not our fucking money. Its the decision of a billionaire and football long since stopped being a sustainable business model. FFP "rules" have never been worth the UEFA paper they are written on. When a club loses hundreds of millions, the owners convert the debt to equity or write it off completely. No consequence, no care for any supposed rules
Sign the bloke if you can afford him and want him
When football clubs lose millions eventually some other dopey c.unt comes along and pays even more for it than the last bloke anyway

a. It isn't my money
b. FFP doesn't exist
c. The bloke who owns us is worth several billion
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Fair point, the only caveat is FFP does exist, just very weakly, the chavs may have fvcked up so badly it actually impacts them, we still need to be sensible.
I do wonder what will happen if as expected we get a 3 horse race between the oil states, obviously the PL will give us the line of how exciting and competitive it is, but the other 17 clubs might have other ideas.. it could get messy in the long run, indeed I hope it does.
The PL deserve it for turning a blind eye for too long.

FFP exists in the way fairies and elves do - once in a while you'll hear about it on TV and in a fantasy escapist world, hope that it comes truesk-gtfo wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 5:26 amFair point, the only caveat is FFP does exist, just very weakly, the chavs may have fvcked up so badly it actually impacts them, we still need to be sensible.

Roman Abramovich took over Chelsea 20 years ago. For years we heard how the Chavs had done this, that and the other and not a single meaningful sanction has been taken against them in all that time. Two CL titles, and multiple PLs and lesser cups. Real Madrid and Barcelona have had some of thr most dodgy financial engineering go on that you can dream of, and City and soon to be Newcastle are joining that club
If you can't beat them join them. Nothing will ever be done against any top club

You are talking about it as though (a) it is the only transfer in the world and (b) we have owners that will spend billions to bring us success - reality is that neither is true. We will have a few players on our shopping list and will not have an unlimited budget, so every player that we overspend on, will leave less in the kitty for our other transfer deals and I am very worried that it looks like we are gonna massively overspend on the very average shammers captain. Like I said yesterday, McAllister would be my number 1 priority above caciedo and def ahead of rice because he think that he is the best player out of the 3 of them, plus I think he will bring more of what we need
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
We've spent more in the past 2 years than at any point in our history - off the scale compared to the £40m we gave a certain manager 4 years and expected to shit miraclesaugie wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 6:52 amSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 9:05 pmAnd what part of a fuck should I give whenaugie wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 9:03 pmSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 7:14 pmMy view with transfer fees over the years has changed considerably

If we sign Rice for 100m, McAllister for 120m, Caceido for whatever the fuck million - who fucking cares?? Just sign the right players! Kroenke is worth billions. The club's transfer policy is changing - yes granted we aren't Chavski or the spoilt old brats, but we have loosened the purse strings and £20m is nothing to this wig wearing c.unt
We are going to sell a few anyway to boost things - whether we like it or not Balogun is gone and for a bloke who has scored the goals he has in France, if we got less than €40m, I'd be fuming. Lets pray the Swiss mong brings in €20m+.
You need to stop caring about what we spend. If your logic is true, we'd still be saying that because we wasted €72m on Pepe, we wouldn't be able to sign anyone else.
