ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We badly need a striker, someone with a physical presence who can finish. Any ideas? I don't rate DCL.
Ivan Toney would be the most obvious solution. Ollie Watkins not quite as physically strong but very direct and pace to burn, and his strike rate has been impressive. Don't watch foreign football so can't comment from a position of wisdom there, but Vlahovic was supposedly that guy and allegedly has interest in joining?

Fcuk vlahovic - the basque fool practically sucked his cock in an effort to persuade him to join us last season but he did not want to join us at all so he can fcuking stay in the shit show that is juve   :censored: :censored: :censored:

Ah, Calvert Lewin. Thanks.

I used to quite rate him, but has missed a lot of football through injury and hasn’t looked too clever when played this season.

Without doubt we need a goal scoring centre forward, because Jesus isn’t the answer.
You need to invest as much as possible in a goalkeeper and striker, because they are the two positions that will win you points you haven’t deserved. We’re weak in both areas. Imagine where the scum would be this season without Kane's ability up front. They’d be comfortably bottom half.

I’d sign Kane. In a heartbeat.

I don't watch foreign football and don't know enough about him, hence the choices of Toney or Watkins.

Toney would surely be ideal - London based, 2 years experience in the PL (and successful ones too), physically strong, regular goal scorer. Seems like a strong boy in all senses of the word. Done it the hard way on football's ladder which always creates a certain 'Ian Wright' style hunger. Just turned 27 years old. Hit the ground running

In theory we have the easy bit to do. A couple of strong bastards would take us forward quite straightforwardly. Dunk in central defence with Saliba. Rice is a possible. I’d go for someone more grisly personally.

Edit - I quite like Palhinha at Fulham.

Hit the ground running
All the way to the bookies and his potential ban.

repost here as hadnt read this thread before posting this:

as much as i supported jesus return over the feather as he before injury created ops for other, patently clear that as well as CB, CM we desperatly need a 20 goal a season striker with presence. who that is i dont know, maybe vlaohivic (could have been isak perhaps), but fairly sure we wont sign a striker which holes us below the waterline from the get go. wouldnt be surprised to see vlahovic go to scum if crayon muncher leaves.

would happily sign crayon muncher however!

problem with toney is he will be banned. more so if he signed for us.

would love to sign kane, imagine the bants for starters. sol mark 2 x 10000 and as we know he is actually 'one of our own' and a fan.

DCL is a sicknote steer well clear until proves over a season he can stay fit.

The Times: Arsenal have cleared Mikel Arteta to break the club's spending record this summer in a splurge that may exceed £200m. Arteta wants to sign midfielders Declan Rice and Moisés Caicedo who could cost a combined £170m.

If we believe Brighton wanted 80m and West Ham 120m, it will take some doing. Then need a RB, CB and striker as a minimum

My bet is that we will sign a couple of players after a long Summer transfer saga. Neither of which will be our first choice. One is called Deja Vu.

Ah yes, good old Deja Vu. I remember him well...Wenger signed him every summer. Super top top quality. He'll take us to the next level, which is....err, the next level.

Deja Vu.....Zlatan......Drogba......Hazard......Yaya Toure - the virtual, nearly signed XI are looking more and more like Galacticos every year
