As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Doesn’t matter if we spend 100, 200 or 800 million this summer, that right there is our best signing of the window.
Said it already when Pornstein broke the news a while back but massive credit must go to Edu and Arteta for getting this one over the line because I thought there was zero chance he would extend.
The love he gets from the fan base played a huge role too, superb stuff all round.
Whether you think the signings and renewals we’ve made so far are good, bad or indifferent how refreshing is it to see the club on the front foot with these things rather than scrambling around like a bunch of fucking morons on transfer deadline day trying to hoover up the dregs left on the shelves.
90% of our transfer dealings done before pre season officially gets under way, we’re behaving like a proper club again - absolutely superb
Yup!
Yup!
and
Fucking YUP!
I recall when we at last managed to get shot of Wenker (after all the fan unrest, in-fighting and protests) we thought it would take quite some time to get our Identity , Pride and Class back... But then of course it only became just how Bad a Mess TOF had left the club in, when we saw the utter shiftiest Emery had actually taken on... All the over-paid crap players and the lazyCunts turning up to collect their huge pay cheques...
So for Arteta (& Edu) to turn this around so quickly deserves huge Credit.

William Saliba is the best defender and natural defensive reader of the game we have had since Adams. He is the best young defender in the world right now. As I keep telling you all, the bloke who cuts my hair, Pierre, is a Marseille supporter and he kept telling me that they threw everything at him to get him to stay. They offered the biggest salary in their history, property, all sorts of bonuses, future coaching roles, you name it and he continually told them he was an Arsenal player and was going to play for us.
Brighton view Charlie Patino as a potential replacement for Moises Caicedo. The promising midfielder is valued at ~£18m. As previously reported, the deal would most likely include a buy-back clause.

We should do a Swap Deal if they really rate Patino. He has great potential, but Caicedo is already on another level.
Either that or if they do sell Caicedo to the chavscum after they fucked us in January, then say Okay you can have Patino for £85Million.
|| Jurriën Timber has travelled back to Amsterdam, likely to finish off some logistics / admin and to watch Ajax in action against Den Bosch [Via - @TheEuropeanLad].
If Party goes we must replace him with Caicedo. I rate him better than Rice - he's quicker, more aggressive & can play in a number of different positions. Would be great alongside Rice with our captain next to him.
It's only paper speculation that Balogun is up for sale , We need goals and have a player that scores them , Even if we get a large sum for him it will cost more to get a proven player . Maybe sell him in a year if he doesn't progress let him fight Eddie for the bench.
I heard he had been put on a specific Weight Lifting based exercise regime; on top of the regular training programmes to try and get him more physically robust and ready for the up and coming season.
I said on here before, if you look at You tube for all of Baloguns goals last season for Reims, it's not so impressive. Some are penalties, most of which were actually struck fairly poorly. Many of his goals were mis-hit, scuffed or really poor defending/goal-keeping. Yes he makes some good runs, but I really have massive question marks over his finishing and the step up from Ligue 1 to the PL is enormous, it's like the Championship/Division 1 here, it's really poor outside the top teams. If we can get 40m or over for Balogun, I would have no problem selling him.
