Arsenal’s lawyers are top drawer. I suspect that’s a complicated deal and we don’t trust West Ham to draft a contract that matches what was legally agreed. Shifty fuckers over in East London. We can also piss them off by making them wait after all the aggro they caused.

There's nothing wrong with East London. Despite what that lot go on about, they're actually mockney Essex boys. Until the boundary changes and the London County Council becoming the GLC in about 1964, their old ground (East Ham) was officially in Essex. You now have people in Romford calling themselves East Londoners. Two generations ago they were carrot crunchers with straw in their ears.

Also makes me laugh how many "East Londoners" think the the sound of Bow Bells is the church in Bow E3, when in fact it's St Mary Le Bow church smack in the middle of the City. I'd consider Bow to definitely be East London, but I've had people from Bow say "I'm a real cockney because I was born within the sound of Bow Bells". I usually just laugh and say "You must have fucking good ears". They're clueless.
Count me in as one of the clueless as I have to admit I never knew that. My Grandad always went on about being born within the sound of the Bow Bells. I took that to mean he was born in Bow. Live and learn

No offence John, you're far from alone. In fact, I'd wager that a huge number of East Londoners who are cockneys, also don't know the true facts.

Not all East Londoners are cockneys and not all cockneys are East Londoners. The truest of all would be those born in the City....St Mary Le Bow is on Cheapside, on the junction with Bow Lane and in terms of those born in hospital, Barts would be the closest. If you took a line across the Thames, then those over in Southwark would have heard the bells, but we don't really want to include south Londoners.
Next, you are going to tell me those Pearly Kings and Queens that cover themselves in buttons are imposters too :D .

To be honest John, they have always irritated me and it seems to me that a lot of them are south of the river....say that quietly, because Stuart might be listening.

I've never liked that over the top, playing up the cockney thing. Most people giving it large about all that talk absolute bollocks, much of which, if not entirely apochryphal, pre-dates them and are stories handed down by parents etc.

No shoes and socks on our feet, always left the front door open, Ronnie and Reggie blah blah blah.

Ha ha no, but I was born n bred in South London

You’ve got to be risking a beating with Our Dear Moderator’s big banning stick, with admissions like that!!

What part are you from Stuart? I assume you had to get a passport to attend games at Highbury?

:moderator: Have we got a Sarf Laahdanner in our midst?! :box:

:D

Strangely, I actually do hate South Dubliners. We call them Southsiders and they are all minges, all rugger bugger private school cùnts. :censored: :box:
Dear Mod, I'm assuming from your post that South Dublin must be the more up-market, refined part of town?

You're not one of the roughs from Ballyfermot are you?!!

We are the only club in the world to destroy the hype (liberally used) around signings by delaying the announcement.

There is no change in the Declan Rice situation. He is expected to release a goodbye video to West Ham and be officially announced either Friday or Saturday by Arsenal before joining up with their squad for the tour of the USA. - ExWHUEmployee

Parts of South Dublin are like that. But "Southsider" has become a wider demographic classification nowadays, not so much geographically defined to just the physical south side.

Nope, not a "Ballyer" myself, although I am from the Northside of the city originally. But a nice part of the Northside.

Is there such a thing as "a nice part" of Dublin?? :rubchin:

As a boy from Bethnal Green the way it used to be, rather than the contemporary gentrified version, I suppose I ought to be wary of taking the piss out of less genteel places. Mind you, Bethnal Green always had a certain charm and that's the story to which I'm sticking. :D

Dublin is very like that. There are nice areas in the Northside and south and there are shit areas in both as well. But there are "rough" areas like Stoneybatter in the inner city that have that certain charm too.

Well waiting for Gareth, errr, I mean Declan, is absolutely fucking boring....especially when the 100+m signing is a bit meh (in my opinion of course).

That said, what I've been doing is exposing the West Ham "cockney kings" claim for the myth it is. It's always irritated me, because they're Essex boys and Arsenal are the club of true cockneys. Not really something I should be getting worked up about is it?

Anyway, when is Gareth arriving??

Do you think the Arsenal lawyers have found any spare change down the back of uncle Stan’s sofa, so we can actually get the deal done for Gareth today?

I wonder..... all those "nearly signed" players from the Wenger Virtual XI.... How many of those deals went tits up because of our lawyers....?

I'm going to believe it was all of them. Because lawyers, like bankers, are the fucking scum of the Earth. :censored:

🚨 Declan Rice is now back in England & ready to sign the final paperwork for his Arsenal transfer. Arsenal & Rice want the move wrapped up in the next 24 hours so he can fly with the squad to the USA on Sunday. Jurrien Timber is also due to be on that flight. [@sr_collings] #afc
