An apology……yawn.
The cheat in the VAR room will be stood down for a game…..yawn.

Then they’ll be back the week after fixing the results of games

It's gone beyond acceptable or even tolerable these days. There is no defending the indefensible any more. The paying public and that includes the people paying vast amounts of money to watch the matches on TV, have a right to know why decisions are being made at the time. They need to start broadcasting these conversations like they do in cricket and other sports so we can head exactly what the decisions were based on. It is not good enough to release the audio a month later when it doesn't matter and when they've had a chance to manipulate it and edit it to suit their narrative.
If decisions like this one and the ones we saw last season were made in boxing we'd all be talking about fraud and match-fixing. For these type of decisions, we're left with two answers; the first is incompetence which means the VAR operator needs to be sacked as he clearly isn't able to officiate at the level requires and the system which allowed him to progress to that position is not fit for purpose and the second, is match-fixing. In the 97th minute with a decision like that, you'd have to wonder about whether that individual is on the take. It wouldn't surprise me if more than half the referees in the Premier League are involved with illegal bookmakers or organised crime. One day, it will come out.

Definite bias/corruption/incompetence on that decision. Lots of people saying those challenges by a keeper are never given but there is precedence. Edison against us only last season and a penalty was awarded. Didn't even go to VAR I think. Ref just gave it.

Utter bollix as usual.

Putting last night's sham on var is just giving the referee an excuse - it was a blatant penalty that the c.unt should have awarded without the assistance of var, but after 5 mins of last nights game it stood out that he was going to be a home team ref

That manure team is shit and they aint getting top 4 and I have consistantly said that - mount is useless, the rat is a whinging cock who goes missing when needed, the keeper is a fruit cake, and they STILL dont have a quality striker

No mate I'm not solely blaming VAR. Its a joint effort. Ref not giving it in the first place was wrong and VAR agreeing by saying no clear and obvious error.

Also no yellow card for Varane going into the crowd after scoring. I thought that was mandatory?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion my friend.

Doesn’t matter about competency, it’s all about ticking the right boxes. You can’t watch a men’s sport competition without seeing a host of female presenters who nine times out of ten are clueless.

Similarly, the ethnicity quota has to be met, regardless of whether the “pundit” can string a coherent sentence together, or can analyse competently.

Woke bullshit.
It's the same in all workplaces now.

As you say RG it is all about ticking the right boxes and 'Appearing' to be PC - Even when it means providing a lesser service, product etc. Does my fucking head in.... :cussing:

Yep, correct. In the sceme of things, a poor football pundit is an irritation, but not damaging. However, when quotas are applied to the world of university courses in all things including medicine and engineering, then call me old fashioned, but I'd rather the surgeon and bridge builder were chosen on merit rather than sex or ethnicity.
I see it every day in work. We have gender quotas, disabled quotas, now race quotas. Now, if the person getting the job or the promotion is capable then great I don't care if they are an albino dwarf frog. Or a "Spuddy" as we'd also call it.

The problem with quotas is they discount quality. Some of the minorities women whatever that get hired and promoted literally cannot tie their own shoe laces but they got the role because they ticked the box.

Complete woke bullshit that drags performance and service delivery down. :censored:

Just out of interest DB, what minority box did you tick, because looking at your performance on this forum, there was obviously a reason, other than talent, that landed you the job?!!

I believe the box said something like "the ability to read shite from tarts and not immediately ban them".

That’s quite honestly, and sadly, one of the rarest traits of all, in this modern society of ours.

In which case there's more than a few lucky posters on this forum. Not me, of course, but a great many amongst the forum's peasantry.

Bergkamp was at the Bromley game, watching his son play.

The greatest that ever was in my humble opinion, skill and vision like no other...and then a nasty bastid when he needed to be......what i wouldnt give for even half a bergkamp at Arsenal now.

Ps, i know people will argue TH14...but he went off to barca which for me sullied his reputation.
I would have said Bergkamp, either if Henry never left, personally.

I do agree with you about Henry sullying his reputation when he left. He didn’t need to leave, in fact you could say that we needed him more than ever - new stadium, young side etc. It still bothers me, to be honest. He clearly wanted to leave, and the fact we got such a low fucking feee for him is also bothersome.

I’ll add that he will always be a legend and I will never look upon him negatively. I grew up watching him score copious amounts of goals, lift trophies etc. That was my era, which makes the whole leaving thing a bit more of a stinger, I guess. Either way, Bergkamp is God! :barscarf:

On the night in Paris , I was never convinced that Henry was committed to the cause knowing that he was off to Barcelona after the game . There were times when he was not putting in the runs that he should have. He finished the game wandering about the pitch moaning at his own players.
I lost it with him after that.
Got into quite a row with other Arsenal fans on the ferry back to Dover , I would have taken Eboue off and left Pires to do the damage , when he went off I reckon Henry packed it in.

I'd have taken the Circle Dribbler Hleb off and left Pires on and then brought on Bergkamp with 15 - 20 minutes to go. It was written in the stars for Dennis to win the big one that night and fucking Wenger robbed him of that. As did the fucking moron Lehmann. :censored:
