Ben White new contract incoming

I do dislike the Benny Blanco moniker

While I like his overlapping runs and his pairing with Bakayo I do think his defending ( along with his passing, decision making and throw-ins )leave an awful lot to be desired

Then again a couple of years ago I would have been happy with Max Aaron’s, then at Norwich, so what do I know ? :rubchin:

So the only thing you like is that he can run! Another Theo.

How about Ben's waxed eye brows, surely you like those?

He does put in some decent crosses at times,

Eyebrows ? More like caterpillars 🐛 🐛

Not a good look on a bloke in my humble opinion
The guy is a man tart. Fake tan, or tanning salons or whatever he is using, the fucking overly manicured eyebrows, never a gelled hair out of place. He needs to get a grip.

Source BBC:

England defender Ben White, 26, has said he wants to stay at Arsenal for as long as possible as discussions take place about a new contract.

Arsenal have a four-man shortlist of targets for the January transfer window despite only having a limited budget, with Brentford's English striker Ivan Toney, 27, the number one target.

If true I wonder who the other 3 might be? Watkins of villa (I hope not), there are rumours of us 'wanting' Osihmen from Napoli, but 'wanting' and ' getting' are very different stories... Besides both the chavs and the victims are keen to sign him...

A point I made many, many times when we were overspending during the summer - anyone who thinks that the prices we pay is irrelvent is not living in the real world because now that we bought a dud we didnt need (havertz) and spent more than we should have on rice, we dont have the money to buy a quality striker

Exactly this. I couldn't believe how certain people on here were arguing that the price we pay for transfers is irrelevant. The idea seemed to be that all PL clubs, or certainly us, have a bottomless pit of money. A fucking infantile view point.

We were always going to be forced to pay over the odds for Rice and while I maintained that we were paying twice what I believed he was worth and that we could get comparable (maybe better) players for far less, I can at least see what he brings to the side. He will never be creative and he's what Cantona would call a "water carrier", but he has the solid dependency that we've lacked for years in centre mid.

Havertz on the other hand, has brought nothing to the team and is a complete waste of £65m. Imagine having that to add the funds we have available for a striker. The signing of Havertz is going to weigh very heavily on Arteta, because even if he learns the lesson and doesn't play him (which I doubt), the throwing away of that kind of money on a total dud has a lasting cost.

This 1,000% that fact he has been on the bench the last 2 games, perhaps Arteta has woken up to his major fuck-up of a decision to buy him...we can but hope. :?

I too was one of the few who argued the bottomless pot approach was madness. We overpaid for Oirish Deckers but we should at least see some return from him. Granit Havertz on the other hand was madness. Pissing away £65million - and let's say maybe a million a month in wages? Fucking mental. Even if his wage is a million every two months, and that would be conservative, its still money pissed away when we needed an out and out goal Scorer.

Our lack of physicality up front at the weekend was there again for all to see. Jesus is a tryer and apparently god loves one, and Eddie comes alive with the sniff of a chance, but neither can do the type of role that Kane can (or on a lower scale Giroud!). When the team are under the cosh the ball just keeps coming back, time and time again, and I maintain that were it not for the Chavs clown keeper, we'd still be passing from side to side now trying to create a chance. We don't have a forward who offers any out ball or release of pressure, and in the world's most competitive league and the CL, we will need that option. Liverpool bring Nunez off the bench to make a difference, City have the freak, and whilst the scum have that big nosed, non scoring fanny up front, he's a physical presence who brings others into the game.

The number 1 priority has to be getting in a CF who can do that in January, and if that man is Toney, I will have no complaints. We are so lightweight up top its unreal. In the league this season, Eddie has 2 goals (home to Forest and Fulham) and Jesus has the 110th min goal against Man U when we caught them out pressing for an equaliser. We don't have a goal between either of them away from home in the PL, and that is very telling and sums up how we play when we're under pressure......which is basically almost without a striker. Can Saka, Trossard and Odegaard be expected to score all the away goals for a team supposedly competing on two fronts?

Yep, as many of us have been saying on here, the lack of a goal scoring, proper centre forward is our Achilles heel and it’s going to cost us.
