Our lack of physicality up front at the weekend was there again for all to see. Jesus is a tryer and apparently god loves one, and Eddie comes alive with the sniff of a chance, but neither can do the type of role that Kane can (or on a lower scale Giroud!). When the team are under the cosh the ball just keeps coming back, time and time again, and I maintain that were it not for the Chavs clown keeper, we'd still be passing from side to side now trying to create a chance. We don't have a forward who offers any out ball or release of pressure, and in the world's most competitive league and the CL, we will need that option. Liverpool bring Nunez off the bench to make a difference, City have the freak, and whilst the scum have that big nosed, non scoring fanny up front, he's a physical presence who brings others into the game.

The number 1 priority has to be getting in a CF who can do that in January, and if that man is Toney, I will have no complaints. We are so lightweight up top its unreal. In the league this season, Eddie has 2 goals (home to Forest and Fulham) and Jesus has the 110th min goal against Man U when we caught them out pressing for an equaliser. We don't have a goal between either of them away from home in the PL, and that is very telling and sums up how we play when we're under pressure......which is basically almost without a striker. Can Saka, Trossard and Odegaard be expected to score all the away goals for a team supposedly competing on two fronts?

Yep, as many of us have been saying on here, the lack of a goal scoring, proper centre forward is our Achilles heel and it’s going to cost us.

It already has and is mate...

Indeed it has OB. :banghead:

Mostly agree but the league isn't competitive, if it were we wouldn't have come 2nd without a proper striker last season or be near the top this season when we have been crap all seaso , or a bang average scum team top. The league bar 5 teams or so is crap. That we have so many points despite stinking the place in week in week out, with poor tactics, selections, and players woefully out of form is evidence enough. Had we a striker to bail us out in games we should have been out of sight in, eg Fulham and scum games, we would be top somehow.

BBC:

Arsenal have prioritised signing Real Madrid and France star Aurelien Tchouameni, 23, next summer as they look for a midfielder to play alongside England's Declan Rice.

Sounds like Partey might be on his way out then!? Tchouameni is quality. though so would be a very good signing

The Gunners have also identified Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi as a target, although the 24-year-old Spain midfielder is interesting Manchester United too.

Who???

All these rumours and stories are BS. The only story that I believe right now is the one where Arteta said he doesn't expect us to spend much money in January because of FFP.
I don't agree with it but think it has more truth than the crap posted in the media.

BBC Football:

Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in Crystal Palace's 23-year-oldEngland defender Marc Guehi

He would be a very decent signing.

............................

Arsenal may reassess a January move for Wolves' Portugal winger Pedro Neto, 23, because of concerns over his fitness

Pity about his injury problems because he is Quality.

...........................

Arsenal and Tottenham want England striker Ivan Toney, 27, but are not willing to meet Brentford's £61m asking price

He'll go for more than that surely?

...........................

Arsenal and Chelsea want Shamrock Rovers' 17-year-old attacking midfielder Naj Razi, who is a Republic of Ireland youth international.

Wow! That's a very Traditional Irish name isn't it.

...........................

Arsenal are prepared to sell 24-year-old England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale next summer.

FFS! It sounds like no matter how many more blunders El Raya De Pug makes it looks like Arteta has made up his mind who is No 1 GK no matter what.

Dount we would be in for him even if free .

Eddie is no longer shite apparnelty given he scored 3 goals against a league 1 side.

Let's ignore his disgraceful n London Derby efforts (lack of) let alone his actual lack of skill and effort in all the other games this season.

Shills like arseblog and le Grove banging his drum no doubt... don't here people see this sort of thing os holding the club back and will always do so till we get a 20 goal a season striker.

Another thing, Eddie is the wenger of strikers stinks thr place out for weeks on end pressure beginning to build then up comes so awful team and he is made to look good and buys him another dozen games of shite...like wenger always got a thrashing against a poor team just as pressure was mounting on him and it meant the akbs could justify him in their simple minds ignoring all other evidence.

Hate Eddie. I dislike klive immensely but more so the deceuson to sign him and give the chavs 65 m for a complete dud who we all knew was a dud, but Eddie has fooled a lot of people yet his lack of effort when we need him to put a shift in is what really winds me up.

#AFC | Brentford want £100m for reported Arsenal target Ivan Toney and do not want to sell him during the season. Reports of a £50-60m valuation 'have been met with derision in the club’s boardroom' [Sky Sports].

Don't give this prick another penny to waste on players

Partey, White, Havertz, Vieira and Zinchenko have lightened his fucking pocket to the tune of well over 200 million and look where that got us

Get rid of the manager. Lens and West Ham have taught us there's no change in mentality , as did the end of last season

Any money invested with this chump is a waste of time now
