Good post Galasso, and spot on, if Henry was such a bargain as some would have us believe how come there wasn't a bidding war when the reserve price was well under 20M???

People should beware getting too caught up in the actual fee cos the facts of the Henry transfer is that Arsenal only agreed a 16M fee with Barca on the condition that most of it was paid up front, (instead of the usual four years or even more as it's not unusual for clubs including us to still be owed money from transfers from donkeys ago) as it helps us reduce the interest payments on our debt!

But of course it also follows that this ends up costing Barca more due to the large down-payment, which is why they initially baulked at the deal on Arsenal's terms until they got word that several Serie A clubs were sniffin round one of which was definately Inter and they eventually stumped up, so in normal terms the deal was probably closer to 20M, pretty good IMO, considering his age and deteriorating fitness!

Everyone knows AC only got 30M for Shevchenko cos it was the Chavs and it was the worst kept secret in football that Abramovich had a hard on for seein his pal pull on the blue shirt, but aside from that can anyone honestly see, say Ronaldinho or Eto'o fetchin much over 20M??? either way they'll certainly be worth nowhere near the 30-40M they would've been just a couple of years back, in other words exactly the same as TH14 but I can just hear the wails of discontent if we had've sold the great man while he was still worth 30+ even if it was only the previous year!

I agree less then £25M is a P**s take! :banghead:

However, if some of the reports are true Arsenal could gain a player plus £15 for Ade.

Barca look set to offer Eto'o plus £15m for Ade. HAha!
Love to see that! (but I'd doubt I would)

Sorry! this Ade Thread had just dropped off the first page..and I've just gone and bumped it up to the top of the main page again

Anyway...according to SkySports, Ronaldinho is flying into Milan tonight and is on course to finalise his switch to AC Milan.

Now, I would imagine that this news has left Ade literally sh1tting his pants at the prospect of his Milan move falling through..however, Hleb will be jumping for joy as this will arm Barca with the cash to sign Hleb...which in turn will leave Wenger jumping for joy as he will have recouped the funds that he had just spent on Nasri.

And what next for Ade? no doubt, in the next day or 2, his agent will release a statement, hailing Barcelona as his "dream club" he wanted to join all along

I'm getting worried that Barca and AC Milan have realised that he isn't actually that good. Might get stuck with the c.unt

I said that a few weeks back too :worried: In fact the only thing more worrying than being stuck with ade is being stuck with ade and hleb :banghead:

Seriously though can somebody, anybody even, please pull their fingers out and get these 2 *word censored* off our books asap. Clubs have said they want to buy the players, the figures quoted appear (to most on here at least) to be more than acceptable and the players themselves want to go so what is the fcuking hold up :?: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Specially now Milan have just splashed out on Ronaldinho, looks like it's Barca or bust for us in both cases. I think we'll end up with something like 30mil for the pair.

I hope desperately that Barca sign Ade. Maybe Henry can show his Arsenal colours and be a great help to us, even from afar - tell Barca to sign Adebayor for a lot of money!!!!

Has anyone ever seen either of these two players make any particularly bad statments in english that we can understand and analyse properly??!

Seems to be Ade has only ever said he wants to stay in English and its only in some misquoted interview with foreign magazine that all these ridiculous requests come flying about! Hleb has given us a few years and decided he can't settle in!! So bloody what?!! If I moved to Japan, palyed for a couple of years then decided I can't stand the Japanese way of life because its too many bright lights and i'm a simple country bum at heart then why should I be given so much stick for it??!! Hleb's not said anything bad about the club and when he'd been misquoted as doing so he's come out and denied it!! He doesn't like it here, we're going to sell him for a profit and he's not screwed us over going on a bosman or anything?! Why are you giving him so much bloody stick??!!!

Some Ade quotes really hacked me off but I've decided that unless you can give me a link to a video of him saying quite clearly in english that he wants silly money or he is going then I am no longer going to start throwing abusives at someone who may well be in an Arsenal shirt next season and was the second top goalscorer in the prem!!!!

There I've said my piece almost defending Hleb and Ade, I now await the onslaught from the people blindly led by the media and cockroach agents!

God I almost sound like Roly!

What about calling a press conference to say he's staying and then telling sky news he jadnt decided yet because there is big interest elewhere? That was broadcast on SSN.

Or stating publically that he was worthy of Henry's wage?

Hleb may have valid personal reasons for going but its still smacks a bit when a professional highly-paid footballer who lives in london's most expensive leafy suburb moans about his hard life and also, that doesnt excuse him meeting inter for ice cream the night before an important match when his attention should have been on Arsenal.

Part of me quite wants Ade to end up with egg on his face when he realises no one wants him. I have a feeling though that he'll sulk until Arsenal sell him off at a cut price.

I want hleb gone cos he is total shite :banghead: He has skill in abundance, can turn on a sixpence but has no fcuking end product  He wont shoot, slows up our game and keeps drifting across the middle aimlessly and gets in the way of players like cesc. His goal return for an attacking midfielder is nothing short of shocking

Ade was brought to this club 2 1/2 years ago as a outcast from monaco. Last summer he was given a new improved contract by wenger more as a sign of faith than anything else cos he had done fcuk all on the pitch at that stage. Now 12 months into that new contract he thinks he should get, not just another raise, but a massive raise putting him on a par with what henry was earning before he left  There are times that us fans believe too much bullshit spouted by the media about this player coming in or that player going out but lets be honest here....we all know he wants to go. Even in a day and age where players transfer fee's are ridiculous there is no way that ade is worth £25m so we should sell him and replace him with a better and more humble, loyal and appreciate guy 8) 8)

We may end up with egg on our faces by putting too high a price tag on Ade.If no one comes in with the stupid price we are asking for him we will be stuck with a player who doesnt want to play for us.Remember Henry"s last season when his heart was in Barcelona.Dont keep a player who is not happy :banghead:
