Alexander Hleb's defining moment as an Arsenal player?
Do you remember a special highlight moment he produced? Is there a standout moment?
In my opinion, other than the goal against Fulham, there is nothing much other than a few dribbles and tricks, and on the flipside, frustrating numerous fans with his refusal to shoot.
Even Eboue (despite his critics) has had his moments (crossing for Henry to bean Man U in the last minute, and his cross for Van Persie's unbvelievable flying volley at the Valley).
What I am trying to say is that losing Hleb is not as big a loss as some people are making out. Nasri is more than capable of replacing him, and may even turn out to bean upgrade.
In your opinions, does Hleb have an on-pitch defining moment from his 3 years in North London?

The sir after the City (H) game said some nice stuff on the *word censored*:
“That’s his game, you know," said the Arsenal manager. "In every game, in every quality, you have the negatives as well the positives. Alex Hleb can play through a needle, and he can, as well, miss a pass because he tries to play through the needle, and sometimes it can be a little bit annoying.
"But today he gave a goal to Fabregas - an assist - and the penalty was on him, and at the end of the day you look at how effective a guy is and I like him as a player.
"It doesn’t annoy me. And if you ask any supporter of Arsenal Football Club if Hleb is a good football player I don’t think you will find one who will say ‘no’.â€

His wait and pass for Fabregas at Anfield in the league plus his goal and general performance against West Brom at home towards the end of the 05/06 season when we looked pretty poor.
And I find the comparison to Eboue a little hard to stomach. Hleb provided plenty help with goals and chances for other players. You can pick out Eboue's because that is it! (And quoting the van Persie goal?)

Hlebs defining moment.....
Against Reading at home this season...good build up play (we were totally outplaying the losers (who I said that day would go down based on their shite attitude and ability)) Hleb had a one on one with the keeper.....
Did he shoot? No
Did he make a decisive pass? No
Did he dribble aimlessly, attract three defenders, run to the line, try a couple of fancy tricks then lose the ball? YES
Typical Hleb - good at building up opportunities but scared of making a shot or good pass. He will not be missed. Good luck in the quiet backwater rural location that is Barca!

Goals? Exactly how many goals do you remember - not many I bet.RaM wrote:I will always remember Hleb for his outstanding dribbling ability. The way he could turn and get out of tight groups of players was brilliant.
And also for the first few matches of this season. That was him at his best. Goals too.
Good riddance Hleb, let's have a team full of players who want to wear the red of Arsenal not ones who quit when the going gets tough.
