European Super League horseshit now a possibility?
Re: European Super League announced
One of the ironic things said about the Super League was how boring it would be playing the same teams every year. That is right. Been playing Everton home and away since 1955 and that was a total bore fest. Also add in victims* since 1962, scum for every season except that wonderful 1977-78 season and Man U except 1975-1976.

One of the things about drawing Barca, Real Madrid, Juve, PSG etc was the excitement of it, hadn’t played them for years etc, if it was the same teams year after year, the novelty would soon wear off and stagnate back to the same old levels of excitement we reserve for Olympiacos.arrgee wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 12:01 amOne of the ironic things said about the Super League was how boring it would be playing the same teams every year. Anyway, after this season, we would be lucky to be invited back to the top table anyway.
We should all be thanking Arteta, for keeping us out of the super league
Re: European Super League announced
So, Turkey not on green list, fans told not to travel, UEFA have been asked to move final to England, given there's two English teams in final, sounds like common sense
Let's wait and see!

As our players were laid out dejected on the turf at the end of the game and the pundits mentioned it was the first time in 25 years that we wouldn't have European football, please spare a thought for Rodders and I. We've spent a fortune on Barry White collectables, the plunge bath, mood lighting and accessories for our annual meeting with Olympiacos.......
Who knows when we will see its return?
Rodders - might have to stick it all up on eBay mate

It'll be interesting to see if they back up the motto they adopted, football is for the fans.
Given that of the 10,000 people allowed to attend the Final in Turkey, only 2000 tickets were available to the clubs, with the other 6,000 going to "others".
UEFA the greediest, most corrupt organisation of them all.

Amazing how well the utterly corrupt UEFA have come out of this. Meanwhile, Arsenal will have 5% of Uefa competition revenues withheld for one season, starting in 2023 as punishment for threatening to join Super League. 5% of nothing ain’t muchStuartL wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 1:53 pmSpot on mate, how can the two clubs involved get less than the corporate jonny’s who are just there for a day out ?Nos89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 9:05 pmIt'll be interesting to see if they back up the motto they adopted, football is for the fans.

So, of the 12 clubs that wanted to leave UEFA competitions, 3 of them now face a 2 year ban. That simply doesn't make sense. It's like being barred from a pub you don't like drinking in. I wonder what those 3 clubs do during the 2 year ban? Maybe play in an exclusive club competition with some other teams.

The funny thing is if that happened the TV companies who decried the ESL would want the TV rights to screen those matches so as not to lose subscribers

I can only imagine that we'll have the usual moral outrage from cûnts like spit the dipper and ratface who'll then happily work for whoever broadcasts it if it happens.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 3:01 pmhttps://x.com/afcstuff/status/173779436 ... yx5an1PoIQ

Re: European Super League horseshit now a possibility?
Driven totally by the wankers at Barca and Real Madrid, two broke football clubs who are desperate to up their revenue, they have nothing to lose in a shit league.
Everyone should just say no and in a couple of years time Barca will be out of business.

So will this replace the Champions League?

Yes..... And who can take it seriously when Spurs would be in it every year
