Summer Spending-is that it?
Well now i for one think it might be and i have to say it aint good enough. The way this team is set up it can only get 4th and maybe a decent run in the Champions League.Just like the last 2 years. Dunno what you guys think but my opinion its been allowed to slide for some reason. We arent Man U so we dont think we have a divine right to win everything and make showbiz signings but doesnt it piss u off when u know that our comments come May will be "maybe one or two signings" or "we dont want to hinder our younger stars". This is a common problem for Arsenal fans by the way...we win despite our transfer policy not because of it.

Maybe, like most of us you are just a tad jaded by reading the never ending press and blog stories linking us with every Tom, Dick and Fernando.....
Take heart friend, a long way to go in the old transfer window! I feel like most that our pressing need is for a central defender and a free scoring winger. A big name striker would be nice but I really doubt it somehow, Ted Da Silva is the man for us but only time will tell.
I think SWP would be a fine signing but Spuds are after him too so again, only time will tell. It's all one big guessing game

Summer Spending
Not really good enough is it. 4 signings but only 2 of them will see much action. We are the only top 4 club not to make significant investment yet we were the ones who most needed to.
How can that old duffer Hill-Wood really spout about how we are in the best shape ever. What he really means if we are making some nice shekels thanks and if we get taken over we will get some more.Any one else reckon these waiting lists for tickets are made up as an example of how well the club is doing?

Be very careful lowerwest because some people, not me I might add, do not take kindly to any kind of negative talk regarding all things Arsenal. I'm not sure if I agree with you re club statements on waiting lists but i def agree that this squad is still not good enough to challenge the three other top sides. Our board continually either say nothing or talk utter crap and clearly are not in a position to invest in the team or have no inclination to do so while they count down the days towards the sale of their shares for some big £££. As I have stated before I would be seriously unhappy with the prospect of player either van persie or eduardo on left wing and stinks of doing things on the cheap. IMO this board has been very lucky that AW has worked so many miracles without spending money in the past and they have decided to risk everything on him doing so again. Of course they are also taking a huge risk by hoping that the sacking of DD wont affect the future of le boss. As is obvious to most of us now we need more quality but of course wont get them

Eduardo is anything but inexperienced. If you mean experience in the EPL then even Etoo doesnt have that. And whos unneeded? Sagna? Last year we leaked goals like anything through the right hand side. This guy can was voted the best right back in the French league last season and he is said to be capable of playing anywhere in the back 4. Thats hardly an unneeded buy. Trust the manager, he has an unmatched success rate when it comes to transfers.Total Football wrote:I hope Wenger's not finished in the market yet. I would be very dissapointed if we didn't sign anyone else. Selling our star player and buying in a combination of inexperienced players and unneede ones is hugely dissapointing as it stands.
I personally would like at least one more purchase that of a striker (I dont think theres any world class wingers left for us to get, Quaresma doesnt fit in our style of play). But wont lose my sleep if we dont get anyone else.
